Cost Conversion

By Emprah_Horus, in Rogue Trader

I've read through a few times, I was wondering if anyone has seen a conversion method to give RT items a price for DH characters? If not, does anyone have any suggestions on how to begin? My group has seen a few items that would suit their DH characters when we return to that game, and we want to make sure we don't charge to little or too much for an item.

On page 34, last paragraph in the A MATTER OF PROFIT sidebar states that a typical Rogue Trader character should have an income of 1,000 Thrones a month.

If you want to get technical, you could multpily the RT Characters Profit Factor by 2 OR 3. This would give you an average RT monthly of 800-1200 thrones, and would make an RT with a high Profit Factor very wealthy.

I am sorry, I totally misread your post!

Overall I think it should be up to the GM’s best judgment but I would lean towards the idea that most items that aren’t listed in DH or IH should be on the expensive side for DH characters. Base your pricing for RT items off the more expensive equivalents in DH. I would price most of the equipment over 1000 thrones, if it’s available at all.

You might consider using the RT items as rewards from their inquisitor.

That personally is exactly what I was thinking.

Well, a Seneschal starts with an Inferno Pistol, which would be a 7500 throne item for a DH character. One "very rare" common quality item is basically free for a RT character at start as well. I'd assume anything very rare or above, for weapons and armor at least, would be in the 5000-15000 throne range in DH.
