I agree with you. I love the ship , but in the end it comes to what you get for your points. And the fact is that you get a better and stronger ship in the AFM IIB. And are more likely to win. You may say it has tactical advantages with the shrimp. I do agree.

I dont agree with that. The Assault Frigate is a GREAT ship. Strong with a great survival style but it does not have much in the way of oomph!

The MC30 however has that Oomph and decent survival. While no where as good as the Assault Frigate in versatility it can take Sensor Teams to maximize damage, it can take Turbolaser upgrades AND Ordinance Upgrades which I don't know about you but combining the lethality of Xi7's with black dice is just fun.

But I guess we have to wait until we have a chance to play a while to see what people think or would prefer. It might just be that someone play a special play style where the shrimp will be perfect for that player.

Play with it first. I think you will be surprised what it can do. I have been testing a version of the ship with self made cardboard but I had the movement clicks wrong, but through my testing I found the **** thing to be as survivable as an Assault Frigate and with its speed 4 possibility, even more so in some cases.

I also find that this ship is a GREAT addon to a fleet. It wont replace a ship for me but it does add to the build

It's a different beast though - I think no redirect is particularly scary due to the one shield sides. Not being able to shift any damage from the sides really exacerbates the fragility of that spar so... Thematic win???

Since when you can use 2 defense token of the same type at the same time? FFG really need to keep in check their article publisher... I think there are huge rule errors in every X-Wing and Armada articles since couple months.

They are not saying you use two evade tokens they are graphically explaining the Foresight title card that allows you to cancel two dice with one Evade token.

And in doing so, are showing how you can cancel four dice with two tokens... Which we know you can't do, because of the doubled Tokens.

Even the previous part of the article says

The Foresight title allows you to cancel two dice with your evade token, instead of one, and it allows you to redirect damage to more than one adjacent hull zone, a fact that is particularly useful when you consider how often you're likely to show the same broadside to your enemy.

Note it clearly states TWO dice and evade token, not tokens.

So, either whoever wrote this has no idea how to play Armada, or there is some card they have not spoiled that allows you to spend two of the same defense tokens and the author / artist forgot they were not spoiling that card yet, which explains why it makes no sense.

What were the other mistakes you were refering to?

MC30T(63)+ Ordinance Experts(4)+ Admonition(8)+H-9(8) is 83 Points. Fly it into a VSD or ISD's side, sac your defensive tokens to survive the broadside, then let it rip. Pretty sure you'll have a crippled capital ship as you fly away, and you're still mostly intact.
