I can't wait, as well. I am thinking about buying a 2nd Core Set. If I did, I'd probably want to find the biggest whiner on these forums and mail my spare damage deck to them.

So far I'm enjoying the Force Awakens Starter. But if I choose to stick with OT and EU I don't consider my money wasted because:
1. New Damage Deck
2. Weapons Guidance
3. Extra tokens, templates and asteroids
4. Spare plastic sleeves for cards
and
5. The ships look good and can always be used as squadron leaders
6. Could be considered prototypes/special forces ships for narrative play, if you play narrative play.

So far I'm enjoying the Force Awakens Starter. But if I choose to stick with OT and EU I don't consider my money wasted because:

If I had to make up something bad to say about the new set... it would be just this. The new TIE-Fo-Fo's stark white panels could do with a little blue-black glaze (very thine wash) to tone them down and bring out the nice details... and the new T-70 (original X-Wing) does not have the new BB droid model on it. Easy fixes for both. For the BB's just cut off the astro on the ship and replace it with a craft bead and a straight pin. that is what I am doing. That way Poe-Poe WILL have cute 'lil BB-8 hanging back and ready to helps out!

TIE/ FO's have a sexy black trim and VERY SEXY red cockpit. by default.
I'd not change mine for anything cept for maybe adding insignia.(A Black Omega symbol on the wing or some such).
The way I see it, I would be able to double my total number of ships with a TFA core. Sure it kills my entire gaming budget for the month, but it also gives me a ton of stuff to make up for it.

Right on... a glaze will only barely darken them down, the main thing is this will make the cool pannel detaile pop and it will look even cooler. I like the white wings but they need a lil umph... which is a tiny thing to deal with.
