The adv is much much better and no longer the forlorn pariah of xwing. The fix made the adv very good and in a world without tlt you would see vadar, fel, bro bots and pwts fighting for supremacy. Tlt is just a bit better right now although I don't think it's op as some suggest. And since tlt is popular arc dodgers with auto thrusters tend to compete well against the shops that use tlt. So you still see plenty of brobots and fel.
So where are all the TIE Advanced now?
I ran AC/DC (4 tempest with accuracy corrector and dark curse) at a store tourney this last weekend. Went 3-1 but got tabled by HLC bro-bots. That match-up alone might be enough to keep me from running that list competitively. It is a winnable match-up but its tough.
Acc. Correcting swarms like AC/DC
1. Absolutely melt 1 agility targets. (I managed to take down 1 Tie punisher in a single round of firing)
2. Make for some very long games against other low firepower high agility lists. Took my list up against a 5 A-wing list and felt like we were trying to beat one another to death with feathers. Took over an hour for either of us to lose a ship. I think AC/DC has a definite advantage in these match-ups putting out consistent damage with no action dependence but MOV is going to suffer.
3. Really struggle against high agility, high firepower lists... so brobots. And defenders and starvipers.... so brobots.
Edit: Haven't faced it yet but I think AC/DC would actually fare pretty well against TLT spam. Initiative and dice will be big factors though.

went 4-1 (i ran stupidly right into the tie swarm).

Range 1, 4 hits/crits 1 shotted a soontir from vader.
In my local group, titled TIE Advanceds are still pretty rare. I'm assuming only a few have made the dive and purchased a Raider.
Don't forget that the Raider is still quite new and that it was pretty much released alongside Wave 7, so maybe a lot of would-be buyers prioritized other purchases. I know I fit into that group ![]()
Then again, with the flurry of ships coming in, there's a chance that the Rise of the Sith Lord has already passed and the title is merely a fix that won't be spam-worthy like TLTs and the like.
I played 3 Accuracy Corrector Tempests with Vader. Vader build had X1, Advanced targeting computer, predator, and boost. Ran really well. Usually run rebels lists so the lower hit points was something I needed to adjust to but I liked the list and it will probably become one of my go to lists for casual play.

AC/DC is great except vs. Brobots, I don't think it can ever beat that list. 3 tempests with a 37 point ace (the full Vader works nicely) has much more game, you just need to fly carefully. I think AC/DC in general has trouble vs. arc dodging aces unless it has Vader to offset the trouble with landing arcs on targets.
I have run them in varying lists all with a decent success rate.
My favourite is Vader with ATC and other toys but Zerik Strom with the Accuracy Correctors and EU is a good build.
I think they have gone unnoticed since Wave 7 and the core set hit, but will creep back in, at the end of the day Vader at around 36 points is a pretty decent build in any list.
Am I the only Alozen player? Love the little guy, he basically gets a free action, and his low PS isn't that much of a problem. I usually keep him at 27 points with a cheap EPT like VI, Crack Shot or Lightning Reflexes.

I managed to take down Carnor Jax (AT and SD) and Vader with my AC/DC list. Careful blocking and eventually green dice will fail. Small base arc dodgers are one thing. Boosting large bases are just another beast entirely. I think brobots can be beaten but it will take some better flying and asteroid placement than I showed last weekend.
Ive done fairly well with a Juno/Vader/ Fel line up.
The only problem I tend to have with them is the low over all firepower. But I tend to fly them with AC's so it's low but it's consistent.
Vader, Fel, and 3rd Ship (Palpmobile is the early favorite) is a definite thing.
The Tempest is also a solid workhorse.
The other pilots, while not bad, will see much less play. Tho, the one pilot I'm surprised hasn't seen more attention is Colzet, who is cheap for a pretty decent ability.

Colzet is cool, but I think I'd rather have PtL Omega Ace.
What do you guys think of Juno with "Stay on Target", ATC and Tie Mk.II? Seems to me to be a top choice for her...

What do you guys think of Juno with "Stay on Target", ATC and Tie Mk.II? Seems to me to be a top choice for her...
I feel like SAT and TIE2 kind of counteract each other. The point of the Mk2 is to give her more greens. But SAT turns everything you do with it to red.
And you really don't want to be doing red moves with the ATC because then you aren't locking on.
For the extra point, Push the Limit seems much better because you can get both target lock and focus and the TIE Mk.2 makes it easy to shed the stress from PTL.

more often than not though you'll just be using her pilot ability. Stay on target opens up 15 possible moves after your opponent has moved for juno at the cost of a stress. While stay on target does counteract Twin Ion engine mk2 you still have all the extra green maneuvers for the next turn.

I do believe the entire point of that particular build is to make Juno all but impossible to shake off.
She acquires a target lock on initial approach. Then uses her pilot ability and Stay On Target if necessary to make sure she drops behind her target the next round. Then she has every green in the world choose from to shed the stress. There's little to no reason why she wouldn't be able to keep in her target in arc until it's dead.
I agree that PtL probably has more utility overall though, her ability makes her a menace as it is.

That, indeed...!
Edited by John TenzerVader is a beast and goes toe-to-toe with Soontir and Whisper on the "best small Imperial ship" right now.
ColzetTrollzet with FCS is a *great* 23 points filler, and will be even better with the new damage deck. One of my favorite pilots since it was released.
I find the other pilots a bit lackluster compared to those two, but both Maarek and Juno are really fun to play.
Edited by KharneteI've had a lot of success with my 'Steele Curtain' list. I've had a boat load of fun flying it.
Colzet with FCS
Mareek with ATC, Predator and Advanced Homing Missile
Vessery with VI and HLC
I dunno why, but I just don't want to use Vader.
It feels like...cheating somehow. Using any Force user against normal pilots does.
It also feels cliche.
Edited by DarthEnderXVader does feel a little OP. The problem is that you are thinking him as Vader, not Captain Rex Harding of the 132nd Special forces TIE squadron...
Or something.
idk, Vader has felt pretty weaksauce to me so far
lack of thrusters will do that to a guy
basically, great pilot with a convincing offensive threat; needs to be played extremely well
given my definition of "OP" is "pre-errata whisper," Vader really doesn't get anywhere near even the remote vicinity of OP
