I think nobody until now has thought about this. I have just asked to the X-Wing rules people, but I am waiting the answer, so meanwhile I put this here in case someone has received an answer about this or something.

The bombs read "When you reveal..."
Adv. Sens read "Immediately before you reveal..."
The timing is not identical, therefore.
Which is to say that if one were to Adv. S into a Boost before dropping a Seismic Charge, the order would be:
Notably, once you get to the Dropportunity, you'd have already passed the point of the Advanced Sensors activation, and so you cannot drop a Seismic Charge, Ion Bomb, or Proton Bomb, followed by a Boost followed by a Maneuver.

So then it´s legal to boost, then drop the proton bomb for example, free barrel roll and maneuver, right?
That's exactly right.
So could Deathrain (adv sensor, (Action bomb) lets say proximity mine, and experimental interface.
1. Boost
2. via EI drop Proximety mine out of front
3. barrel roll (not sure on timing for resolving the BR after you drop the bomb and the stress recieved from EI)
4. perform a 1 bank (green) and clear off the stress
Yes, that works. It's effect nesting. The trigger point for Deathrain is when you drop the bomb, which happens before you receive the stress., so he's free and clear to roll.

The bit you're missing there would be
3.5 Gain the stress from EI.
Well, that begs a question. Dropping a mine (relquires an action) is different than dropping a bomb (requires revealing a dial). I do not have Deathrain's card handy, but I suspect that his BR ability only triggers on bombs, not mines.
Can anyone clarify this?
his card specifically says the word "bomb", but the mines are all on bomb cards. reference card "Bomb Tokens #1" has proximity mines on it, reference card "Bomb Tokens#4" has cluster mines on it. So I would say they are all under the Bomb category

the question then would be when the stress hits? if you immediately get the stress token from activating EI, I don't think you can do the barrel roll even if it is a free action.
I don't think "mine" actually has any meaning for the game, it's just a convention used by the fans because thus far all mines are dropped the same way, and all "bombs" are dropped a different way, but Conner net shows that they don't have to follow that naming convention. The new rules reference identifies the upgrade type as "bomb", so anything that goes into that slot is, according to the game, a bomb.

It's a case of 'nested' actions. The stress hits after all the actions within the 'nest' and any triggered actions have been completed. So, at the beginning of the Activation:
Push the Limit and Experimental Interface can both trigger other actions from the free action they provide. So you go and complete those other actions before coming back to gain the stress from the PtL or EI.

Quote from EI card:
Then receive 1 stress token.
As Parravon said its nested action, timing for "then" occurs when you "exit" EI.
if Boost
{
if EI
{
if Bomb_dropped
{
do BR
}
receive stress from EI
}
}//actions over
perform maneuver

I disagree. All of the bomb cards talk about dials. All of the mine cards talk about actions. Further, they have different triggers for going off. If we are going to split hairs about the Slam actions and revealing dials vs. Choosing maneuvers, we can talk least be consistent.
Edited by balindamoodThanks all for the quick and very detailed explination. I am not sure how effective it will be in game, but i like to know how it works so if i ever try it.
For the bomb/mine thing. I honestly thought they were all the same under "bomb" as they share reference cards and on the FAQ are all covered under 1 bomb per round thing. on the cluster MINE token it states " When one of these BOMB tokens detonates......" (emphasis mine, and all say this: cluster mines, conner net, ion bomb, proximity mines, etc.as the upgrade is called "bomb") so my interpertation is they are all bombs, even if they are called mines or net in the name.
Edited by RanzinThink of with this analogy: All cars are vehicles, but not all vehicles are cars.
By this extension: All mines are bombs, but not all bombs are mines.
They all fill the "bomb" upgrade slot, therefore they are all "bombs."
Rules reference page seven makes it clear that "bomb" covers both "bombs that drop before your maneuver" and "bombs that drop as an action".

The slot's called Bomb, and all the cards that go in it drop Bombs. Rulewise mines don't exist. Mine is just something we say to distinguish between Action Bombs and AoE bombs.

Actually, the term 'mine' is just a name for the weapon itself, not the type, which is Bomb. If you look the difference between the 'mines' and the 'bombs', you'll see that the 'mines' (Cluster, Prox & Conner) tend to lie in wait for an unsuspecting victim to fly near/over them. Whereas the 'bombs' (Proton, Ion & Seismic) all detonate at the end of the Activation Phase. I think it's purely coincidental that the mines happen to be Action cards and the bombs don't.
K wing NEEDS a system upgrade!!! lol although you would have to pay for boost.

Can you show us the mine symbol and what ships have it, because my tie bombers, punisher and decimator only have bomb symbols.
