How do you feel about design your owns Pilots?

This is a simple concept:

You start with a basic pilot such as an Academy Pilot, and pay points to upgrade a basic pilot into a more skilled pilot.

You pay points for Pilot level, weather the pilot as EPS and you choose from a list of pilot abilities.

I have thought about running a Campaign that way, everyone start's with a smaller pilot, and can trade in point's for better pilots as the game progresses. Biggest problem I find is that what if two people want Bigg's, or Whisper, or Fel, etc.

My FLGS has some people that were planning a Campaign where everyone start's off with a pilot of their choice, and then you can pay point's by building your squadron. At least with this method, you can at least get a pilot you like even if you end up getting the least amount of points per game.

I like the idea of a Rebel campaign where everyone starts out in either a Z-95 or Y-Wing, and can cash in XP for higher PS, skills, or a skill to fly other ships than their starter.

Along those lines: ships would start out basic, but various ship upgrades can be purchased with some other currency that the players would earn collectively.

Yeah, I had had a plan for this sort of thing way back in Wave 3.
