Team Play

By TheRealStarkiller, in Star Wars: Armada

Hi there.

Any experiences with 2 vs 2 around, with 300 points for each player?

Yea. I've done more 2vs2 than 1vs1. We all like the bigger fights. It can be very difficult at some times though, because your partner sometimes does things that you don't completely agree with, but that's what makes it interesting.

We enjoy the 2 v 2 or even 3 v 3 format at our store. We play 1 v 1 but there is nothing quite like an 1800 point 3 v 3 game! Seeing the Cap Ships moving in formation and swarms of fighters engaging in the space between. It really captures the feel of the movies at 2v2 and 3v3.

The downside is the games will go on longer... heck setup can take much longer as you have to place all the ships and then alternating moving. As the game gets to turn 5-6 however it does speed up.

If you haven't played 2v2 I would strongly encourage it.

I'm always very tempted to have 2v2 or 3v3 games activate multiple ships at once to speed the game up. Would having 2 ships/4 squadrons per side go each time be too unbalancing? (Probably, but how about if they were on opposite sides of the board?)

Any other suggestions to speed up large games?

You know, this sounds great for a vassal thing. Save to file if you run out of time, and resume another day.

I really wish I had more players in my local area! :( Too much vassal to get my armada fix. (doesn't stop me from buying ships through!)

I have done 3 vs 3 and it is nothing but fun, and keeps everyone jumping. :D

Done ton's of 2v2's both sharing the 300 and each getting 300 for a 600v600

Once wave II comes out I'll have our group do a 3v3.... 400 each player. 1200 v 1200 it will be glorious...
