Throwing in a couple of generics...

Tala: Concussion Missiles (17)

Airen Cracken: Squad Leader (21)

Jake Farrell: Prockets, PtL, Wired, Autothrusters (33)

100 Points

I really just want to do 4 actions a turn with Jake: Start with an evade, Cracken shoots, gives Jake an action, Jake Focuses to barrel roll or boost, then uses PtL to boost or TL.

A more competitive list would drop Squad Leader for VI, and switch Wired for VI. Then you have PS 10, 9, 4, 4, 2.

Can I admit frustration at the lack of feedback on this idea? With all the various negative threads flying around I thought that maybe a thread with (what I thought) an interesting idea might be good. I did get a couple of people's posts from guys I respect, but I was hoping for more.

Is the idea dumb? Disagree? I'd really like some input.

This idea definitely has merit. As a former 40k player, building an all-comers list was one of the aspects of the game I enjoyed most. Fielding an atypical army/squad can be the difference in victory or defeat sometimes solely for the fact that the opponent isn't prepared for it. I agree with you and am excited that the meta for X-wing is in a state of flux with the new ships and upgrades arriving over the next few months. I'm hoping to see a wide variety of lists that utilize pilots and upgrades that are commonly overlooked/undervalued.

I was inspired to tweak some of the lists I have been tailoring lately after reading this thread yesterday. As a sucker for the TIE Defender, a lot of my lists revolve around this ship as the centerpiece. This is a list I came up with using this topic as the impetus behind it:

Imp All-Comers

As the original post covers, bumping is an important component to the game. I like the TIE/fo's for this purpose along with properly timed TL's activating Vessery's ability. Alozen is your mid range pilot with an ability that has synergy with Vessery and benefits getting into range one of TLT's. To Biophysical's point, Alozen can be changed a bit depending on what you are up against. The ATC can be dropped to an AC for initiative bid or to make room for a TIE Mk. II mod or VI.

I think you are spot on with your assessment of a well-balanced 4-6 ship list being a thing. I hope this ideology gains traction and we see more diverse lists across all factions.
