300 Pre-Sullust Rebels

By Drasnighta, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Final Rebel Test before Sullust.

In the last tournament, I was able to keep the Frigate on its Broadside to the target, and still mostly in range to support Yavaris. Between them, they start making short work of Squadrons that try to tie the B-Wall down.

Previously, I had a Cr90A instead of Salvation, and I still don't know if I should save the points for more squadrons by going back that way, or wether Salvation will add to my overall damage output.

I personally like Advanced Projectors but that is me. Looks good.

No preference here, but I ran AP last time, so giving ECM a whirl this time... I only redirected a small amount of damage, most of the time, the Redirect being Acc'd away by long range Victory Fire...

I prefer ecm because you will always get to use at least one precisioned token before you tap that card.

I wanted to try ECMs, but I'm also dubious to them, because the AFMKII is a Red-Die Flanker. If I'm getting hit with an ACC to lose the Redirect, then I'm either bracing away the minimum damage, or, if he ACCS away the Brace, I'm redirecting it, OR, really, I'm only getting hit for 1 damage and I'll drink a pint of Concrete and harden the hell up...

My other option at the moment is to remove the XI-7s from Salvation and flip a B-Wing to Keyan.

Well, two Games with this... Two Wins...

First game was as above... I completely demolished a VG-R list that was also packing Vader... Not even Vader likes Double-Tapping B-Wings.

Bs Walled up before Gladiator who bore down on the two Nebulons travelling along at speed one and facing, while the AFMKII moved to try to fly circles around the Victory...

In the end, the Victory sped up to try to nail the AFMK-II down and off-boarded after I'd cleaned everything else up.

Second Game was against a Rebel player packing an AFMKII and a Trio of Corvettes, no fighters... You'd think B-Wings would be useless against Corvettes, and sure, you can't chase them, but putting B-Wings down as a Wall somewhere makes them fly AROUND them... And right into AFMK-II Guns... I lost both Nebulons and sustained a fraction of damage on the B-Wings, but ended up winning handily as I'd dropped 2 Corvettes (one killed, one Off-boarded) and both his AFMK-II and Remaining Corvette each had a Single Damage Card on them...

B-Wings were still the hallmark... Throwing a Blue and a Black as a Corvette tried to speed past them to set up shots were just nasty...

AFMK-II failed that game... Opening Salvo, me as Player 2, Throwing a Side Arc of 3 Red, 1 Blue, 3 Black with a Concentrate Fire and doing *one* Hull Damage to a Corvette.... ::groan::
