I thought you meant broken in relation to the condition of the ships. Though my models are still fine, I noticed the Ties don't feel as solid as the original ones. I'm very careful with them as the solar panels move even in the gentlest of holds.

Personally, even if I stick to OT and EU ships, I like the new damage deck and the couple of upgrades. Weapons Guidance has already proved itself. BB-8 was fun, twice in a three turn quick game I barrel rolled out of the fire arc of one Tie. Extra tokens, markers, asteroids and the reference book are welcome too. So IF I decide not to continue with Force Awakens expansions, I certainly don't consider buying the starter a waste of money.

I bet all of us are provoked every now and again when the forums do not reflect our own self-defined ideal of what they should look like. My daughter believes that pizza is ruined when you put onions on it - but the rest of the family loves onions. So we tell her, to suck it up buttercup, the world isn't going to bend over backwards to conform itself to the way she wants it to be. She doesn't receive that message well, because she is growing up in a culture that instills an unmerited sense of entitlement - she honestly believes, that she deserves to have whatever she wants whenever she wants it.

Part of parenting is getting rid of such childish notions.

But seriously, mine set was broken too. One TIE/fo had the wings bent on gluing, but I was able to bend back in place, but then it broke off the stand. Superglue to the rescue!

I haven't picked up my set yet. The local game store just got them on Friday and X-wing night is Thursday. I probably should've found some time to drive up there this weekend, but wasn't able to.

I haven't even gotten a game in with the new stuff yet.

Honestly, I think it's two things happening at once. The first is that the game is not only growing, but starting to reach outside the minis gaming and board gaming communities. In particular, I think it's starting to draw video gamers, who come from a subculture where (e.g.) "your post just gave me cancer" is a legitimate way to express frustration or disagreement.

The second is that there have been a lot of changes in a short period of time. Since the beginning of August we've had a full wave, a Huge ship including the Advanced fix and the Palpatine card, a new Core set, and a promise of a second full wave (and then some) before the end of the calendar year.

That means the metagame has changed as much in the past eight weeks as it ordinarily would in six months or more. A lot of people have been driven out of their comfort zones, and a minority of those are reacting the way a minority of people always act when the status quo changes.

One of the panels on one of the Ties came off and had to re-glue. Seems a little more fragile than the regular ties. No problems on the T70.
