Can you get away with not buying the core set?

By PsychoWeenie, in Star Wars: Armada

Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if you have to buy the core set? I only ask because I don't want to collect imperial and would rather just buy the rebel ships :).

Thanks in advance for the help!

PsychoWeenie

It has items required for the game not yet available elsewhere:

Objective cards

Obstacle tokens

Damage deck

Trying to think if there is anything else I haven't thought of.....

They're the ones I can think of... I bought two and sold the ships/squadrons on (but that was when there was no wave 1), some have split out the contents with friends...

My cousin and I split the Core Set. I bought one of our copies of a damage deck from eBay. I bought a third party acrylic range Ruler for myself because I wanted to.

Replacing everything in the core by getting them on eBay might not be much cheaper than the Core itself. I'd say split it with someone if you can. Hell, if they already play try to just sell them the VSD for a few bucks to soften the blow.

shop around and you should be able to find a core for $40 that is a fair price its like paying $10 each for the reb shipe and $20 for the emp ship and everything else is free :D
