Rohan Gondor deck with 1 copy of allies

By Lecitadin, in Strategy and deck-building

Hi! I was wondering if anyone has ever tried a deck like this? No more than 2 copies of any card, and 1 copy for all allies.

***New tweaked version of the deck

And if yes, how was it?

Deck built with Rivendell Councilroom

Fun idea! I once built an all-singleton mono-Leadership Gondor deck just for fun, but its dreadful inconsistency doomed it for anything but the easiest scenarios. I like the idea of allowing multiples of non-allies, though. I'd be interested to hear how your deck performs.

I have a deck that's kind of like that, but it's secrecy and uses Timely Aid and a Very Good Tale. Having only one copy of each unique makes those events less likely to whiff.

It would be worth trying in deadmans dike

You have the Boromir hero and that ally.

Is there some kind of strategy behind this deck? I spot nothing like that in terms of synergies (execpt various Gondor effects).

Oops! Thanx for pointing that out! (I did the same thing with a dwarf deck once).

The strategy is to throw allies under the bus to get Himrahil ready to attack with Eomer, with a minimum of 8 attacks.

I will tweak the deck to get more cheap allies with Responses.

I do prefer the bofur strategy with Imrahil/Eomer. Though mass chump blocking works too. Makes for an interesting deck with all the different draws you could get.

So far, I tweaked the deck again (2 cards minimum is rubbish, you never get what you need in time, so some important cards have 3 copies, also allowing Eowyn to discard them for extra willpower) against Intruders in Chetwood and got my arse kicked each time.
