Corona-class Line Frigate
Probably not likely since the older and vastly different Corona-class Armed Frigate is anon though.

Z-95 Headhunter!
TIE Defender.
Both of these are already canon ![]()
JJ has claimed to be a star wars fan so I really hope he will have some respect for the expanded universe.
I'll be fairly happy if he just has Luke mention how much he hated the E-wing.
Yes, a scene where Han and Luke sit for 10 minutes straight, talking s4it about the crappier EU stuff.
- Remember the E-Wing, Han? Geez, that was hideous.
- Not even close to the stupid Vongs. Remember when they killed Chewie by throwing a moon on him?
- Ha! Didn't we agree never to talk about that garbage again? By the way, Chewie, how come you are still around?
- Grauwllrouauw! [i got better!]
Edited by Azrapsehonestly I want to see all the really cool TIEs.
But, mostly, I want to see an HWK somewhere in a Resistance Hangar.

Lol
All I need is for Luke to look at the JJ-X-wings and say how he hated the E-wing.
It's original canon. Luke did not like his E-wing.
TIE Phantom. We never got to see cloaking devices in action in the movies.
I think JJ Abrams has already confirmed he is dumping the EU.
Not a decision he made, just like how he didn't design the T-70.
If you don't like Abrams, fine, but don't blame him for stuff he didn't do.
You will probably find that he had plenty of input as to what ships we will see.
Just like he did for JJ Trek, he could have had the real Enterprise 1701 bit no he wanted to "hot-rod" it up. His words.
Id put money on that he wanted X-wing vs TIEfighters so that's what we will get is rahashed OT ships rather than some new designs backed up by OT craft
I couldn't be more MEH! And Yawn by the /FO and T-70
You're wrong. Just. Objectively wrong. First off, The Constitution Class is an awful design just, in general. Nothing about it is smart. Not a **** thing. Not. A ****. Thing. So you really can't mess it up. It's already messed up beyond belief.
As for the X-Wing and TIE... Er, no. No, they pitched new stuff but some execs wanted to keep it familiar. And you know what?
They were freakin' right to. They were absolutely correct in making that decision. Because the 65 and the LN weren't bad designs to begin with in-universe. They worked. They did their job.
So why not just update them? God knows we do that. There's also the matter of pilot familiarity. It's important.
The old guard will never know the SCAR-L like they know their M-16A2. But they will know the M-16A4 and M4A1 (or 2) like they know their M-16A2.
You want new stuff, new fighters? Wait for Episode VIII. You'll get it there.
Until then, you're getting familiar things. Because they want to ease old fans, like you, into the franchise. And by the way, by now I qualify as that too. 20 years of being part of this fandom, baby. Ain't ending any time soon.
One of the bounty hunters from The Empire Strikes Back's ships. Mainly because it would mean we'd be seeing more of the bounty hunters from The Empire Strikes Back.
TIE Defender (Tie Fighter game version not the FFG).
Though, honestly speaking, as long as ships go pew pew pew a lot I will be happy.
I'd prefer the Imperial ships pew pewing and Rebels doing boom boom. ![]()
the madolorian this this guy talks about
Would be interesting to hear an in-universe explanation for why the decided to go with the rectangular Fighter wings over the newer Interceptor wings though.

They are hexagonal, mate.
TIE Phantom. We never got to see cloaking devices in action in the movies.
Captain Needa would like to have a talk with you, if he weren't dead.
"Impossible! A ship that small cannot have a cloaking device!"
TIE Phantom. We never got to see cloaking devices in action in the movies.
They will be everywhere in the movie but we are just unable to see them. They are like ninjas.
Tie Defender, K-Wing, Q-Wing... In that order!
Assault Gunboat
Imperial Raider
YT-2000
I rather hope the EU ships will be ignored.

What are you on? Clearly your a wars fan over trek and as such you have no brain for logical designs.
The constitution class is actually a good logical space craft design.
The saucer: everything is an equal distance from the center. Meaning ALL the command crew can get to the C&C at the same time.
Engineering hull: same idea as above only allowing for more room for mechanical equipment to function.
Engines: placed far enough away from the ship so in an emergency they can be jettisoned from the craft with minimal damage to the space craft.
Bottom line here is trek is SCIENCE fiction, wars is fantasy

Star Wars is fantasy allright.
Star Trek is as much science-fiction as Doctor Who is.
Here is how i see the new designs:
I grew up, as many of us did, with star wars. My son was born two years ago and i have indoctrinated him into the fandom. He recognizes Darth Vader, Chewbacca TIEs and x-wings, among other things. When my son saw the trailers for the new movies, when the Star Wars logo showed up he screamed "yes! Yes! YES!"
He was awestruck when he saw the ships flying - the TIEs and x-wings. He knew what they were. That is why keeping the designs the same are good. Sure new ships could be cool, but having the old style the old fans can explain and show the new fans, like my son, what they are. The new fans whose parents, who like me, tried to instill the joy from our childhood onto our progeny, have a common ground.
The new movie is for the older fans, but moreso, it is for the newer, younger fans. Remember that first and foremost. Star Wars is not growing up with us, even while some of it grew older with us.
Personally, I want to see an imperial fighter that isn't a TIE.
I love TIE Fighters, Bombers, Interceptors, Advanced. Less so on some of the EU ones FFG have released, and some of the others are just plain stupid.
Even something like Maul's ship, which homages the TIE style without being the same cock pit with a different arrangement of panels attached at random angles would be great.
TIE Defender, Avenger - because they were advanced enough to still be in some use.
Assault gunboat - just so we can have it in this game.
Other than that...
Let's have a whole new universe, a next generation if you will.
New Rebel ships to go with the T70s.
New Imperial ships to go with the TIE/FO.

Okay I get it, JJ Abrams has no responsibility over the outcome of the upcoming movie what so ever. He's only the director, with some writing credits. But yeah he can't do anything with the movie and has no say in it at all.
So freaking Disney tells you the EU isn't canon and you're just going to slap whatever you want from it in your movie? OK hot shot.
And the X-Wing, among other things, is based on original Star Wars art, so it's even more X-Wing than the original saga (T-65) X-Wing.
since the Defender is already canon, I would have to go with the Clawcraft, or the StealthX.

Funny because I'd be much more hyped if I saw EU ships flash across the screen, rather then a re-hash of Xs and TIEs.
