Question concerning red maneuvers, overlapping and stress

By XiliX, in X-Wing Rules Questions

So, I was teaching a friend the game last night playing with the Force Awakens base set. My friend did a segnor's loop but ended up overlapping my T-70. So, as per the rules, we back him up and he stays facing in the same direction he started. However, my question is, does he get a stress token since he did not finish the maneuver? I read through the "Learn to Play" guide but it does not say whether or not you still get the stress.

We both agreed since there is no explanation modifying the rules in this situation so, he received a stress token. However, I think that since you didn't complete the move, it was simply a two bank and there should be no stress token. If anyone can clarify this rule for me I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

XiliX

Here's what the rules say.

2b Check Pilot Stress: If the maneuver is red, assign one stress token to the ship; if the maneuver is green, remove one stress token from the ship.

Notice that it doesn't say anywhere that you have to complete the maneuver, just that if it's red you get a stress. The same would go for performing a green maneuver but bumping into something.

A maneuver is made up of the difficulty, the speed and the bearing. So a red 3 turn is always a red 3 turn, even if you run into something before you get to the other end of the template.

Thank you. That's the way we played it. Like everyone here says, "Do exactly what it says and nothing else".

It's dependent on the color of the maneuver, not which maneuver it is. For example, a Defender has a white K-Turn. If it overlapped it wouldn't receive a stress because it was a white maneuver.

Same thing with Adrenaline Rush on blocked K-Turns.
