Title kind of says it all. Off the top of my head I can't really think of anything that they would get that would have an astromech slot. There are a couple obscure ships which could be swung to get astromechs (maybe the republic V-wing I think?)... but I imagined that the Kihrax might have come with one, but we didn't get that. So will that leave us with just the Y-wing? What do you think, will we get anything else with an astromech, and if we do, what do you think it would be?
Edited by FlightyBombJackThink we will ever get more scum ships with salvaged astromechs?
The Punishing One has the salvaged astromech slot and a few new astros to boot. After that, I'm not sure.
Surprised I had not noticed that before, it seems odd to me that such a large ship would have an astromech slot, but hey that is something.
It's why it has Segnor 2s instead of 3s.
I always thought about the lack of salvaged astromech slots in our fleet. It seems odd to have a whole category of upgrade cards just for one ship. They might as well have had an 'unhindged' title for the ywing and be done with it.
At least the punishing one is getting one but i'd like to see a couple more. But then i would like to see the VT series cargo vessels be given to our crime syndicates, rather than all these 'secretly a good guy' rogueish smuggler types.

At least according to Legends lore, Dengar utilized an astromech to help run his ship, hence the slot.
It'd be interesting to see a Scum-only modification that could allow you to run Salvaged Astromechs as crew, but that would probably break the Firespray. Unlimited stress-clearing 3Ks! Emon Azzameen with Genius to drop Proton Bombs with a hard-3 template!

it's a huge something
the combination of ept (deadeye) crew (recon) and salvaged (r4) already make the generic pogostick possibly the best (re: only viable) torp boat in the game
and that's just with what he have now. **** thing's bringing Dengar and Boba crews + more salvaged junk ![]()

Not odd at all. The Astromech's job is to go out into space for emergency repairs and to calculate astrological projects (to make a light speed jump as an example). Most large ships had at least one astromech if the owner could afford one.

That's fascinating. It's only got 2 torpedo slots, though, so even with Extra Munitions it will only get two such shots. After that, it's just a 2-dice turret with Recon Specialist.
If the Scurrg H-6 makes its way from Armada to X-wing as a Scum ship, it could conceivably have a Havoc title card that exchanges crew slots for two(!) astromechs.
Also, I may be mistaken but I think Star Wars Galaxies set the precedent for Z-95s modified to take 'mechs.
Mentioned this in another post about "fixing" the X-wing, but I don't see why the hell they don't just put out an expansion with two battered-looking alternate-paint-scheme X-wings and a bunch of fun X-wing-centric stuff including titles, modifications, astromechs, and SCUM PILOTS. I would LOVE that.

with recon and r4*
a 2-die PWT is weaksauce, certainly, but there are two things to take away from it
1. it's still a bloody turret (and if you're not getting shot but always shooting, eventually it's gonna pay off)
2. the attacks are stupidly modified (TL + focus for your attack, including 3 dice at range 1, and still have a focus leftover for the defense)
given the power of fully modified plasma torps (basically, better than HLC because it keeps crits and deals extra shield damage) and the flexibility of not having to worry about TLs (with deadeye, you only have to worry about your arc --> combine with white Segnor's for fun times) I'd be very surprised if those two shots didn't ruin something important before having to fall back on the wimpy PWTs
the hope, of course, is that the generics will be cheaper than something that hits in the same class of damage. Considering Dengar is cheaper than a M-Merc by 2 whole points, I think it's a safe bet ![]()
Just to ballpark the price:
adding the ordnance package to Dengar (which you won't do because of Dengar's ability, he's made for the title--because it's the title of the ship he flies
) gives you a maximum price of 44 points. Considering Dengar is a freaking PS 9, I wouldn't be surprised to see pogo torp-boats clock in at less than 40.
considering the jumpmaster is a weaker YT-2400 just i.t.o stats, I see the generic hitting around the same price as the YV-666 Slaver and the full package running 38/39 points (same as an HLC + int agent YT-2400)
Edited by ficklegreendiceFairly sure a version of the Dunelizard Hutt fighter could take an astromech.

Judging from the preview picture (caveat: FFG might change content) that mech-wise in the package is
-some kind of R... mech (picture part looks a bit like a R5 unit) (salvaged)
-Over....Agro... (salvaged)
and
-a Gonk power droid (crew).
As for their effects - time will show.
And oh, 2 new EPTs. But no new Illicit

I'm pretty sure you mean astronomical here, although astronavigation (often shortened to astrogation) would be most correct. Astrology is the idea that you can predict the future based on someone's star sign - strictly for idiots only.
Although I suppose it's possible R2-D2 is actually telling fortunes, we just can't understand them...
Obviously they are going to release more salvaged astromechs when they release the X-ceptor and Y-TIE uglies in a Scum Aces pack titled:
Fearless and Inventive.
V-Wing V-Wing V-Wing
I'm hoping for Uglies.
Well... A generic Jumpmaster is basically a K Wing with a slightly different configuration of upgrade slots and +1 agility, it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was priced around the 24-25 point range.
Good question.
I'm not sure which of the remaining known scum and minor faction ships rely on astromechs.
V-Wings could be the only ones left and they are a valid option for scum pirates and Black Sun.
Fighters build by MandalMotors and TransGalMeg all rely on nav computers instead.

Yes, but large ships don't require an astromech SLOT, because the Astromech can just do it's job from the inside of the ship like a regular crewman.
