What's your best Boba Fett list?

By Rogue Dakotan, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

I'm loving Boba in Skirmish. he's just so many points it's been hard to fit him into a list.

What's the best list you've run him in?

I'd prefer a Mercenary list, but fitting him in to any list is fine.

I've been running this and I like it, but it's only 5 activations:

Boba Fett

Elite Trandoshans

Elite Trandoshans

Temporary Alliance

R2D2

Gideon Argus

My command deck is a lot of hunter cards and a lot of mobility cards to make up speed against Elite lists.

Edited by Engine25

I like it.

I'm thinking of trying this:

Boba Fett
Trandoshan Hunter
Temporary Alliance
Biv Bodhrik
Elite Trandoshan Hunter

How about:

Fett 13

Trandoshan 7

Elite Nexu 6

Temp Alliance 1

Gideon 3

Tusken Raider 5

Tusken Raider 5

Boba Fett is one of the best figures in the game. Still, I haven't seen a good list with him yet.

If you want to include him in a Rebel List, you need to include Saska Teft first, but she ain't worth it (too expensive). If Rebels could take Temporary Alliance, he would be great in most Rebel Lists.

If you want to include him in an Imperial List, you need to include Temporary Alliance. He is 14 points then. His Keyword doesn't have much synergies with any Imperial List. For one point more, you can have the RGC instead.

Merc Lists are not that competitive at the moment. There will be good Merc Lists in the near future, but at the moment, I don't see that.

I'd agree in general, and while I haven't won any tournaments with my above list, it is performing well for me. The Mercs biggest weaknesses are speed and a lack of options. My command deck includes every mobility card yet released, which helps me compete with faster lists. That won't change when more options release, and lots of new stuff is on the way!

Pumped.

I used Saska and Boba the other day. Saska took out 3 troopers at once with her unstable device! Though every other time she used it it did 0 damage. :P

I'll be testing this list today :)

Boba Fett

Elite Tusken Raiders

Elite Tusken Raiders

Trandoshan Hunters

Temporary Alliance

Gideon Argus

C-3PO

Gotta have them focus ;)

My Boba list looks like this:

Boba Fett

Royal Guard

Royal Guard

Probe Droid

Probe Droid

Imperial Officer

Imperial Officer

Another idea of the list above is running Champion instead of Boba what I have to do at the moment. I'm from Germany and we have only the Core Set up to now. Boba is announced for the end of the year so far...

Champion Version:

Royal Guard Champion

Elite Royal Guard

Probe Droid

Probe Droid

Probe Droid

Imperial Officer

Imperial Officer

Probe Droids are great with Champion ;)

Variation on the above, which is pretty close to a RGC list I have run a few times.

Boba

Royal Guards

Royal Guards

Elite Imperial Officer

Imperial Officer

Imperial Officer

*Temp Alliance

*Rule by Fear

Boba becomes even more tanky next to the guards, and now he gets 2 shots a Round(unless you have command cards for more).

Boba Fett

Han Solo

Saska Teft

Gideon Argus

R2-D2

C3P0

Balance of the Force

I tried Boba in Rebels a few days ago, and it was really weak. The main reason is because Saska is junk; she dies very easily, she has very little damage output, and basically relies entirely on good results for her (unreliable) Unstable Device ability in order to have an impact on the battle. So basically, she is a non-attacking support character...and she costs 6pts. IMHO, she's probably 2pts overcosted...I'd play her at 4pts. Her only value is in bringing Boba into the Rebels.

My squad was this:

13 Boba

10 Luke

6 Saska

3 Mak

3 Gideon

3 R2

2 C3P0

I've never liked Mak, but I only had 3pts left so I gave him a whirl...I still don't like him--I'd rather give Focus to Boba and Luke each round. The major problem with this squad was that it really only had 2 attackers...Gideon and Saska could make attack rolls, but they were doing very little damage, if anything. Basically, it turns out that Saska, Mak, and R2 were all wasted points...12 points that could've been put to better use...that means Elite Sabs and either Jyn or Reg Sabs. However, C3P0 was DYNAMITE beside Boba, since he was making it almost impossible to activate Surges against Boba (2 automatic Evades). Against Royal Guards or the RGC, preventing surges is the same thing as Block 2 or ignoring Stun/Bleed. Simply huge. Boba never died...he was the last guy left on the board, and could've possibly pulled out a victory over the next few rounds, if my opponent hadn't grabbed the last 15 VP by completing an objective.

Therefore, I think the best way to play Boba in Rebels is to bring the Rebels to him: Temporary Alliance.

13 Boba

1 Temporary Alliance

2 C3P0 (pretty much an auto-include with Boba)

3 Gideon

...19pts so far, which leaves 21pts for Merc attackers: Trandos, Tuskans, maybe an Elite Nexu. I like the idea of Boba and 3 Trandos:

13 Boba

7 Trandoshan Hunter

7 Trandoshan Hunter

7 Trandoshan Hunter

3 Gideon

2 C3P0

1 Temporary Alliance

One added benefit to this list is that you have a narrow range in your Command Deck (focused on Hunters), which means that most of your cards will be usable by most of your squad.

You could drop Trandos for Elite Tuskens, but I kinda like the idea of 6 different Relentless Scattergun guys running around and causing mayhem, while Boba calmly picks off a piece every turn. The Trandos will die, but if they do enough damage beforehand, Boba should be able to kill off what's left. I'll see if I can play this squad on Vassal sometime soon.

Remove Mak and add the rebel upgrades.

Having played against Boba a lot (I'm the guy OP played against in practice), he's incredibly durable, but Saska kind of sucks and mercs have a great anchor in Boba but their chumps aren't very good. I was able to chew through Regular Trandos in one or two attacks. Luke, however, is a great wingman. With the recovery abilities, it can be near impossible to kill either of them. I was thinking this list, doubling down on recovery, might be worth a try:

Boba

IG-88

Temporary Alliance

Luke

Gideon

1pt upgrade/initiative bid

None of these are good targets. Your objective game is weaker, but it will be aa lot harder for your opponents to gain points by killing your doods.

Looks like the new Hired Gun Merc Squaddies got previewed today. These green dudes have above average movement and a bonus death attack to compensate for weak defense. Seems like they might be good focused on objectives while Boba & the Trandos brawl it up.

Here's a sample list I plan to try once I get the actual figures:

Boba Fett
Elite Trandoshan Hunter
Trandoshan Hunter
Elite Hired Gun
Nexu
Only 5 activations might be the big weakness... Might be better to cross with Imperials for Royal Gaurds and Officers or Rebels for Focus from Gideon and C-3PO but I think it's worth a shot.

Elite hired guns are bleh. in your list i would probably go with the elite nexu and regular hired guns.

Or

Fett 13

Trando 7

Trando 7

Hired Gun 4

Hired Gun 4

Hired Gun 4 w/last resort 1

But i guess that is an expensive list if you don't have someone you can borrow the second trando from.

The other list i was considering was

Fett 13

Ig 12

Trando 7

Hired Gun 4

This is my favorite so far... does especially well on the bounty hunter scenario.

I'm late to the party but I'm considering the following:

Boba Fett

Trandoshan Hunter (E)

Royal Guard

Imperial Officer

Imperial Officer

Probe Droid

* Temporary Alliance

* Rule by Fear

I'm tempted to downgrade the Trandoshans to non-elites to get another Probe Droid but that extra health and damage when adjacent is sooooo nice.

I've been thinking about and somewhat trying out:

Boba Fett
Wookiee Warriors
Wookiee Warriors
Elite Nexu
Nexu or Hired gun

Mixes durability and speed so I just have to make sure I play to everyone's strengths.

C3PO has me thinking though, That auto two evade sounds really nice.

Boba is focused!!

This list makes use of focus to an insane degree. Focus Boba and give him two movement with Gideon. Give the Nexu focus with C3p0. Now, depending on the map the 3 activation varies, but Boba can possibly move to a far range and attack you opponents figures who have yet activated and are in a big group, and blast them with the Explosive armaments and focus he received hopefully securing 2 surges. Now your enemy will attack Boba, that is fine, the man can take a hit or two. That's when you send in the Nexu to show them what you think of them and pounce! The Trandos are good at the end to move to range 5-3 and take pot-shots on an enemy that has gotten too close and secure a focus first turn, allowing them major damage next turn on any figure then can get next to.

The hired guns are there for Terminals and Objectives.
