Does a revealed cylon keep his/her abilities when he/she reveales himslef/herself?

By Pirrekurr, in Battlestar Galactica

I have played the game maybe 7-8 times and have always assumed they do. However, I have seen some hints in some threads I have read here that they don't. So I am wondering how it is. Also in our last game, the first with the expansion, Kat turned out to be a cylon and she used her hotshot ability when she activated raiders. Also, if a revealed cylon keeps his abilities, what happens with Kat if she doesn't move. She can't go to the sickbay since she can't infiltrate.

Edit: Just some spelling.

They lose the abilities on their card. "All of the abilities listed on a revealed Cylon player’s character sheet are also ignored." (BSG p20, Cylon player's Action Step).

For all intents and purposes, when a player reveals, his player card becomes blank.

I encourage revealed Cylon players in our games to flip their character sheet over. It's a pretty simple way of reminding everyone that the character card is ignored.

I wish to thank those who have answered. It is nice and refreshing with a forum where newcomers like me are helped instead of ridiculed, this might be a forum I will visit more often.

With that said, I love the game, but I must say that the rules are somewhat hard to find things in sometimes. I am especially thankful to James McMurray who showed the page where the rule is stated. Sometimes the rules just aren't clear enough, or more often the rules isn't written where I thought it should be written (for instance, this rule is not where I would have put it logically, but it can also be that me and the designers don't use the same logic ;)). But still, I love the game and I am sure it will give me many pleasurable nights in the future (that almost sounded dirty, didn't it?). When I took Pedagoics (I think it is the word in english, not my first language) at university they stressed the importance of redundancy when you want to teach someone something new. The more often something is written, told or implied the easier it is to learn, too bad that is often not the fact in game rules.

That seems to be par for the course for Fantasy Flight Games. Their rules are generally pretty well balanced (after a FAQ or two), but usually organized really poorly.

sweet. i just posted this same question. sadly, we can only usually get 3 together for games, and we couldn't find clarification on this topic. thanks guys!
