In the rulebook for Heroes, it states that a hero may join as a leader of a troop with similar movement type (foot hero with foot troops, mounted hero with mounted troops). However, on page 6 it shows a mounted hero as leader of a foot troop. Which is correct?
Heroes rulebook error?
Thanks for a very nice overview of the new Heroes expansion. As you pointed out there are 15 pages of rules that are packed full of material. So a second and even third read though may be needed to capture the finer points of Heroes.
The answer to your concern can be found on page 4, about midway down in the first column.
"A Hero when deployed, is placed on a hex that is occupied by a friendly troop with compatible movement status (i.e., a foot unit if the Hero is on foot, a foot or mounted unit if the Hero is riding a mount). Such a hex is called "Hero-friendly". Only one Hero may occupy a Hero-friendly hex.
To put it another way, a Hero on foot may only be in the same hex and act as a leader for a foot troop. A Hero when riding a mount may be in in the same hex and act as a leader for foot or mounted troops.
Enjoy!

I misread that part. So, a mounted Hero can be leader of a mounted or foot troop. But a foot Hero can only lead a foot troop. That make the riding skill much more powerful than I originally thought. Thank you.
