I'm thinking of running a pretty simple list soon, with two Delta Squadrons with MKII, and Soontir with PTL, Stealth, Royal Guard, and Autothrusters. This leaves me with 3 points to work with, possibly giving one of the Deltas an Ion Cannon, or giving both Tractor Beams if they end up being good.

I don't know if this list is particularly competitive, but I ran a similar list swapping out Fel for Deathrain. Loads of fun.

I like the ion cannon idea until tractor beams come out.

I ran 2 Delta Squads with Ion Cannons and Soontir with PTL, RGT, Targeting Comp. and AT for awhile with pretty good success. Think I went 6-1 with it before I moved on. Now granted this was on casual nights vs. optimized lists but it tore up 2 fat turret + escort lists. Only loss was to triple squint.

I've also had some success with the list type, but not in seriously competitive environments. Frankly, the TIE mk 2 is not worth it. If you know how to fly a defender it does nothing for you. If you don't know how, its still not going to help much because your defenders will die from bad positioning before you get to use it much...
