"Koko love kitten."
"I know."
I'm looking forward to trying some non military AoR sessions, intelligence gathering, back room negotiations, smuggling people and supplies, essentially focusing on the supply/communication chains required to run a galaxy wide gorilla rebellion. I feel there are a lot of stories to tell in that, a lot of tense situations of just escaping the might of the Imperial war machine.
OK, where is your spy gear? Are you watching me right now?
Since I'm playing X-Wing, and going to start Armada, I figured I'd not stress too much about the WAR side of Star Wars roleplaying. Don't get me wrong, there will still be gun battles, lightsaber duels and chases on land, in the sky and in space. But we're not going to be officially Rebels. More freelance.
I'm trying to avoid A-Team references here. But I love it when a plan comes together.
Do you need to move weapons/personnel from one system to another without attracting too much attention? Give us a call!
Do you want to infiltrate an Empire held world without raising alarms? Give us a call!
Negotiation
Infiltration
Reconnaissance
Espionage
Sabotage
Assassination
Kidnapping
Rescue
Smuggling
Or just setting up a base somewhere under the guise of exploration. We're not Rebels. We didn't like the bureaucratic stupidity of the Republic. But we hate the Empire and will gladly accept a mission which gives an opportunity to hit back at them.
Living in the UK I usually shop on Amazon as it is delivered quicker.
Age of Rebellion is on sale for £28.79 including delivery.
Edge of the Empire.....
.....are you sitting down.....
.....put down anything you might be holding:

I might buy Age of Rebellion instead.

I know Star Wars is frelling awesome... but seriously, what the hell? Is the UK version printed on paper made from the Queen's recycled hats or something?

The most expensive is coming from America, but yes those are £s not $s!
Cover must be made from the flattened and gold plated Corgi droppings from the lawn of Buckingham Palace. Every page made from the skin of her majesties Swans. The text hand scribed by her Royal Butler.
The shock of the price yesterday was worse, but I forgot I could "screenshot". The cheapest was, and I kid you not, was over £1000!
Somebody is certainly milking the Force Awakens cash cow. "Mooooo"ving on!
Yup.. I agree on your thoughts about the SW Cash Cow... I was thinking of trying to get another copy as cheap as possible on Ebay or Amazon, so that me and my players can thumb through the current copy quickly while playing, leaving a nice new, shiny one for my own, selfish needs on the shelf
... I too have spotted ridiculous prices...
There are bots on Amazon that bid against each other over the same books, and try to front-run each other. Thus creating situations such as described at <<http://boingboing.net/2012/02/23/amazon-coms-many-bots-feud-o.html>.
It’s fun to watch this kind of stuff hitting closer to home. ![]()
I bought mine of Amazon in the UK a while back, and it was a normal price, so I wonder why it has become so insane? Bot bidding wars on Amazon is old news, I understood they had stopped that from happening any more, but I can't really see what else could explain such a crazy price.
I think the price is high due to temporarily limited supply. If I remember right EotE is in for reprint right now. Amazon's pricing algorithms get a little wonky when something is out of print (even temporarily). I recommend Edge as possibly the most versatile of the cores but you might do better getting a copy from a company not named after a big river or warrior woman.
If you had friends in the US, they could buy locally and then ship to you.
It would just take six months to arrive, thanks to bottlenecks at customs, etc…. ;(
