Question on new Coreset Activation Phase?

By eagletsi111, in X-Wing

1 Reveal Dial

2 Execute Manuever

2a Move ship

2b Check pilot stress

2c Clean up

So if I'm Poe and I reveal a green 1, I move and then can use bb8 to barrel roll. (Moving the ship) Then I check for stress. It's green for no stress.

Next, I use PTL to boost, then I check for stress it's red. So I end of with a stress correct?

Someone was telling me you could Barrel roll and PTL boost and since your maneuver was green you would have no stress?

help me understand this?

Thanks,

The barrel roll action happens after you reveal your dial bit before you execute your maneuver.

You can't be stressed to take the free barrel roll action to begin with. Once that action is triggered it opens an opportunity to trigger Push the Limit and boost, focus or target lock. You become stressed from PTL, then execute your green maneuver thereby clearing the stress.

I think you can take your normal action at that point so long as it's not a duplicate of what you just did when you used PTL.

Why does it say move ship and check stress then. If you barrel roll you are moving a ship, correct. So you must check pilot stress after. According to the execute maneuver. Thus if you PTl and boost you are moving the ship and must check pilot stress after. Not sure I understand the new rules 100%. In the old rules I knew you could do what you said, but it looks like in the new rules you may not be able to do it any longer.

Because right now it looks like anytime you move the ship you check stress after the move. Just trying to sort it all out.

OK, I think I understand what your saying.

So you are saying you reveal a green maneuver, and barrel roll (Action) and because it is an action you can PTL (action) off of it, still not having moved your ship yet. After the PTL you move your ship and check pilot stress, which is red, but since you performed a green action you removed the stress.

If you barrel roll you are moving a ship, correct.

Incorrect. It's referring specifically to the movement from its dial. You're physically moving the ship, yes, but in game terms a barrel roll is performing an action, not moving a ship.

Got it.

Thanks
