Precission strike

By ovinomanc3r, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Just for confirm what I think.

The special rule of this objective should be resolve in the modification dice step or am I wrong?

Correct.

Wait, we are not talking about the 26,000 year cycle about earth's precession around it's axis of rotation?

Darn :(

This question came up during Precision Strike a while ago:

Can you spend multiple dice during the same attack to flip multiple cards? I can't see any text limiting the effect to once per attack, but at the same time there's nothing explicitly allowing you to do it twice.

No. The card states that you may do it onceonce.

None of the Armada card effects have a once perXXXXXX clause because the timing rules in the RRG indicate that almost all effects can only be used once per instance of their trigger or event.

"When a squadron with Bomber or a ship is attacking, it may spend 1 die with a Hit icon to flip 1 random facedown damage card on the defender faceup."

It does not state you may spend X dice to flip X cards. Just 1 die to flip 1 card

so a B-wing, could spend a blue hit and still apply the black dice damage, say a hit crit. Or you could of rolled a blue crit and a hit-crit, spend the hitcrit, and apply a crit.

Cool. Remind me to never pick this one ;)

It is only 1 die, but it is 1 die per attack.

does this one ignore shields or the effect only matter when you punch threw shields? Also does this mean if i punch threw shields and already roll a crit can i use the effect for a second crit effect? Also how does this one worth with Luke?

You use this effect during the modify dice step. So as long as your target has damage cards and you roll a hit on one die you can use the effect.

You are still free to resolve any critical effects so long as you have a critical hit in your dice pool.

If Luke rolls a hit and the target has face down damage cards you can spend his hit to flip one of the cards.

Unless it specificaly calls out shields, shields do not interact with the effect.

So, if a ship already has damage cards from a prior attack, then you can flip one face up by spending a HIT die. Shields do not play a part in this action.

If you have punched through shields, and rolled, say, a crit and three hits, then you get one face up card, and two face downs. If there were ALREADY face downs, you could have spent one hit to flip it face up, but you can't do that to cards dealt with this attack.

Luke does not interact with this in any meaningful way, as far as I can tell.

Damage is damage. As long as the attack is in the right hull zone. Damage is damage

I'll buy that.

Allowing for multiple instances would mean a ship could theoretically flip like six cards under ideal conditions.
