Generally we try to play at the place of whoever owns the most books, which solves a lot of problems. We also use a lot of carry-on luggage and and rolling filing crates .
I've also scanned the books I use the most and put PDFs on my computer.

I'm using a Mil-Tec assault pack bag and pack only necessary books. Or If I need all, then I'll use trolley travelling bag . My philosophy is that take only necessary, and don't let the book browsing slow the game. I keep all the smaller books (beginner box books, maps, GM kit books, etc) in expanding file folder .
All my game notes are either in laptop, or notebook, which I also pack to bag. My ex wife made me a nice huge dice bag, which hold all my five or six sets of dice.
Generally we play online, so logistics of books is not an issue. When we play in location, it's generally few times a year and we play a weekend at once, so I'm ready to endure some pain to carry the books.

yeah we have one player that comes from about an hour away with no traffic so he does not want to lug all the books either! Luckily I am a GM in SW as well so I have all the books and he can use them if needed. If your lucky we can just load pdf's and just bring a tablet or laptop...I'm a dead tree edition person myself so dont like trying to look stuff up on a pdf...but thats just me.
