Raiders firing arc

By Tetrarch, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi,

i own the german version of the imperial Raider. I realised the german rules are different to the english rules. in the german rules the raiders turret weapons from the aft section can only shoot at ships at the aft arc (like in the english rules) but the fore turrets can use any firingarc. I guess, there is a misstake in the german rules, because i find it more logic that turrets can only use in their corresponding arc.

The other point is: what is the firing arc of the primary weapon?

all 3 firing arc or only the fore section firing arc?

thanks in advance

There was some ridiculous debate about this not long ago, but I think you'll find it's the single arc on the forward section, as that's the one with the attack value printed on it. Any secondary weapons fire using the arcs on the section they are equipped to.

It's an omission, the rulebook isn't great. Nevertheless, after a long and very daft thread, the obvious was confirmed by FFG.

Fore hardpoints and the primary weapon fire from the fore arc.

Aft hardpoints fire from the aft arc.

Thanks a lot,

i often organise scenarios for 4-8 players. And if there isnt something clear i have to decide. My decision for yesterday was right then but not so popular by the Raider player who complained then.

Now i have the answer in a written form. :-)
