Wedge Antilles w/Predator + R2-D2 = 36 points

Opponent attacks, rolls, and after modifying is left with 2 hits 1 crit... Now lets say you roll, and since you're PS9 you've shot already and burned your focus... And didn't it feel good burning that focus after a Predator reroll, you were locked in with 3 hits... But now... Your 2 green dice turn up blanks... No worries, 2 shields are gone sure... But let's wait for the crit... That's not good... It's a Major Explosion... womp womp... Now I have to roll for another crit... On my 50/50 shot to get dealt another crit, I got a hit... And it's a Direct Hit...

A 36 points standard Wedge was easily 1 shot at full health by a very standard 3 dice attack... I know, I know "But Howie... Integrated Astromech wah wah... wah wah..." Right, right... The now mandatory card just to field X-Wings... Not a "the sky is falling ermehgerd" type of person, but X-Wings now seem weaker than they did before the new core set and the T-70...

I notice you're not using your Modification slot. Maybe you should use your Modification slot.

not to be a prick, but that "standard" build seems downright awful

the noted fragility of the X makes r2d2 a bit of a non-starter on it. Even back when I ran wedge (the golden years of wave 4, when I was but a sweet summer child) all he had was predator.

The new damage deck affects everyone and everything equally so it really isn't anything to whine about. Does it suck when it happens? Of course! But that's just part of the game.

I like the card, though. The old Minor Explosion was basically 3/8ths of a Direct Hit. You had to roll just going to deal as much damage as another card in the deck. Now, there's still better than 50/50 odds that the explosion will deal as much damage as a regular hit. But if you beat the odds, you'll be rewarded for it.

Counting the chance of getting a crit through, it's less than 1:1000.

I one shot Wedge in my first game using a TIE Phantom, no critical hits. Felt pretty good after the years of X-wings doing it to my poor little TIE_/LNs.
