Duty question

By allenowen, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

In the RAW, when a group's total Duty reaches 100, they get an Alliance Contribution point, and their Duty is reset to zero. How would you assemble a Duty table for the purposes of triggering Duty after reset?

I'm still a bit vague on duty expenditure wouldn't it make more sense to provide a cost to various things the player wants for their character rather than just a set threshold?

Can anyone point me to either the order 66 podcast that deals with this or a thread that goes into more detail please?

Until they gain more Duty then the duty mechanic can not trigger. We always keep the same order, but if you have Duty of Zero, your never going to get the best in session benefits. Now if I have zero Duty but another PC has say 10 and theirs triggers, I will get the smaller benefit. I can just never get my Duty triggered, until I gain duty.

If you think of them broadly as a military rank or corporate management tier then that initial period of Zero is to represent your character finding their feet, getting to know their new responsibilities. I know that's not exactly what Duty is, but it's the best analogy.

I tend to shuffle the players around a bit when I roll Duty (and Obligation) so as to ensure that everyone has a shot at rolling "doubles" even if they only have 5 or less. But after Duty has been reset and before anyone's acquired some more, there's no point in rolling. Throw in a few Duty opportunities in each adventure and pretty soon the values will start climbing again.
