Star Wars Commander

By Suriel, in X-Wing Off-Topic

Hi. We are a small group, who met here on the forum, playing the Imperial side.

If, you are a loyal Imperial citizen, looking for squad, sent request to Auz-X-wing.

FYI Suriel, I'm Carnor in the group; I have a different handle on the forum.

Hi :)

Looks like no one interested. :(

I play, Imperial; same username.

I'm Jono in the group. I misspelled my forum name. :P

i am DarkGuard from the group =P

I have a squad if anyone is interested: 888thGhostLegion. If you're chalk full, I've got a lot of space.

And is it just me or are the Rebs' medical droids waaayyyy too hard to kill compared to the Imps' repair droids?

Rebel med bot, from now on related to as "The Red Devil", is way more powerful than the Imperial one. The heal rate is just so fast that turrets do not manage to kill their targets. It's a bit better now, since they blocked them healing each other. It was beyond stupid before. Also I think the HP is higher on the "The Crimson Menace, Breaker of Men" but not 100% sure.

I've got a level 8 base with solid level 7 turrets. Was recently taken down to 70% destruction and the enemy had 7 heavy troopers and 6 med droids. Every mortar round that landed in their midst took .5mm (or less) off their health bar. On one of my attacks, rebel mortars take repair droids health down about 1/3. I hate when heavies come out of a squad center because they strip an E-ATAT of health quick. Doesn't seem like that should happen. It certainly isn't canon haha.

I play Imperial. But only for a couple hours. It seemed like a fort building clone of all those other games. Was I wrong? I wouldn't mind getting back into it.

I play Rebels but rarely. I get tired of never being able to upgrade my base or its defenses because every time I get close to having the needed resources I get raided and get knocked back to less then half what I had.

I haven't played any of the other fortress games, but from what I hear, it is basically a clone.

But it's a Star Wars clone, goshdarnit!

Edit: Also - to hell with the red devil med bots!

Pretty much the standard mechanism. Build your base, build the army raid the opponent, try your best to win as many defenses as you can.

I play it since it's SW, not the other way around. :)

If you're looking for squad ping Auz-X-wing ;)

What the heck are those missile skiffs!!! Where did they come from?!?!?!?!

Just did an attack and the rebel had three of those in his squad hut. In 3 volleys they took out my elite at-at and all 3 MHCs! Talk about overpowered! I have never seen those before.

Does anyone else believe the rebels have some unfair advantages? It seems like their missile turrets will change targets to the nearest vehicle. Whereas my missile turrets will fire at the closest target (usually infantry) regardless of how many vehicles are in range. Then I've noticed the elite at-at goes dumb once all the shields are down. I've had one turn around and walk away from buildings right next to it to shoot another building. I can never seem to get its logic. Then repair droids are always getting themselves too close to the action and don't repair as often as much or as often as that little red devil. Their droid is much better at placing itself away from the turrets to take less damage while providing massive healing at a faster rate.

Just venting but what do y'all think?

The Skiffs are main Rebel answer to Imperial armor. They came out of Squad Center. 3 of them is plenty enough to take down eAT-AT. I usually keep Decimator on stand-by along with Destroyer droids. However, when Skiffs or Juggernaut come out its 50/50 chance you win. Imps have no unit with muliplier against mechanized (despite asking devs from the very beginning).

When it comes to turrets, you have to take into consideration that the main (and only to be hones) Imperial load out is mech heavy. All Rebels have to do is build missile turrets and sonics.

In case of Imperial turrets we have to mix them because of heavy infantry and Juggernaut, though if you do not have in your Squad Centre Snipers or Speeder Bikes you're toast.

Now the heal droid. The Red Can, the Red Devil, Breaker of Man, Crimson Abomination, it's titles are many. :)

I did not personally notice any positioning difference. Maybe the fact that red droid has more HP than Imperial repair droid gives such impression?

I only log on to give people troops nowadays. The game economy at HQ 9 beyond broken. If you are lucky you can find a base with over 200k in total resources but unless you are constantly attacking, you simply cannot afford to upgrade things. Everything is 2 million plus to upgrade. The really force you into buying crystals.

So true. It took me FOREVER to be able to start upgrading an Alloy plant to level 9, and that also required spending 300 crystals to have enough protection. I refuse to spend money on the game, and need to play it less, but I want to upgrade everything...

I decided not to upgrade alloy/credits to lv9.

I WILL NEVER spend money on SWC . . . EVER!!! Did I mention never? haha. I agree with the economics. I've reached level 8 and it takes a week to upgrade a turret. 500k to do a wall section, 1mil for a shield, etc. I doubt I'll ever upgrade to level 9 or if I do, that will be the day I stop playing haha.

I am thankful the devs finally started adding in conflict awards that are something other than alloy and credits. I was getting a little peeved that there was no way to upgrade the TIE ADV or others. However, you have to be in the top 2% to get those so for a 5-6 day period, you have to make more attacks than I am willing to spend time doing. Oh well.

I used to play commander, but now I prefer Uprising.

It is a lot of grinding but at least it doesn't take a week before you progress in the game.

I have managed to get my Shuttles and Research to lvl 9. Working on upgrading walls to 8 now, halfway done. Then I will probably take walls to 9 for the extra defense so maybe I can survive attacks long enough to save up for other stuff.

Having squadmates that send support helps a lot with defense as well.

Oh and the Droidika Sentinel helps a lot as well. I have managed to get mine to lvl 11 so far.

I attacked a base last week with over 400k in credits and alloy each, along with almost 5K in contraband.

Squadmates are essential and there is a unit that is excellent for defense. If you join 888thGhostLegion (Empire), I'll pass along my secret. Don't want those Rebel scum knowing :P ;)

Nice to see you guys still play. I ended up dropping due to the impossibility of advancing...I essentially could never log off or go idle if I wanted to get anywhere...Am I still number 1 on the medal count? Or did someone finally overtake me? =p

No, you're still in first - but Suriel is within 500 medals of you.

I'm finally ahead of Jono and Darkguard, and have now been rated Officer.

(I'm Carnor in-game...)
