Tie/FO tricks

By Rakky Wistol, in X-Wing

5x Omega Sqadron with Weapon Guidance and Crack Shot. A focus token almost gives them accuracy correcters- they would have better than 75% chance of two hits on 2 dice, and 5 crack shots is a lot of damage bleed through.

I am trying to figure the ship out. It has an awesome dial but what do you put on it? Which pilot do you use? And what do you pair with the F/O pilots?

I chucked Lightening reflaxes on 2 of them for my list. the 2 segnor loop is awesome, but toss in a 3 turn or 1 turn 180 and that is solid gold..

Vess+ VI + Mk2

ZAce + ptl

Zeta

Omicron + FCS + EU

This will probably be the next list I fly. Tempted to go lone wolf on either Vess or ZAce. Not sure either of them can really stay out of range though. I prefer Outmanuever on Vess but not here. Could swap the two epts with Mk2 in play on Vess. Maybe.

Anyone figure out what to do with Epsilon Leader?

Not 100% sure it's competitive. It's SUPER FUN though.

I'm looking forward to escalation or epic with 2 HLC toting lambdas escorted by zeta leader getting in position and infinite stalling. Insert all fortressing complaints below the dotted lines.

I've been taking the level three with weapon guidance, howlrunner+swarm+steleth, and a decked out redline, and I'm really liking it. The tie/fo doesn't cost too much, shoots before all the swarms, and between howl and the guidance system you have consistent shots on people.

I too forgot the shield in my first game and you would not think it would make much difference, but it does.

I'm thinking taking the level four with weapon guidance and either Add rush, or wired, I'd love to do ptl but I don't think it's a good idea to invest two more points into it.

Hmmm...decoy down the omega ace using an omega pilot so that those 3 crits land after shields. You could also just run all 7's with him, redline, scourge...who else? Swarm someone else up using scourge's EPT?

flew a proxied Omega Leader on saturday with PTL + weapon's guidance

he was in a squad of all FOs (not recommended for competitive play; they're really not efficient and they don't have prockets to cover their lack of dice...but they look amazing)

Omega Leader was the only one who could put damage on an opposing Poe. His ability is stupidly good. 24 points with PTL is going to see him/her/it replacing 2 academy pilots in my Tie Swarm easily

According to the rule's reference ("Modifying Dice"), his ability applies to everything that isn't range bonuses (adding dice)

this means no

C3po

auto-thrusters

evade token

focus

and, because his ability states "any dice" that means your opponent can't modify your dice (so no jammers nor r7 astro)

dude could punch through soontir without much trouble, just gotta beat the odds on naked stealth device dice

Epsilon Leader's stress nomming ability is also awesome.

Really, all of the named FOs are starting to look really viable

Not sure if it has enough punch but I'll try it soon:
