So if you are new to CoC or thinking of getting into it, you need to know that these official forums are seldom visited by the community of players, so it makes the game appear dead when it isnt.

There are specifically two other forums much much more active, one of these is also owned by fantasy flight games so I am sure its ok to advertise it:

Nunerous posts per day, good advice of the game and deckbuilding, competition, events and championship organisation, youtube playthroughs, card discussions, sales/trades etc etc.

So rather than see the slow moving forum here, get yourself over to cardgamedb and say "Hi" in the CoC section, its a great place and is ACTIVE

The other is the forum area of boardgamegeek for CoC LCG. While not as active as cardgamedb, its more active than here and also gets the most input on rules variants such as the solo Cthulhu Rising rules.

Very much worth checking and chatting over the solo rules, but for main forum activity cardgamedb seems the busiest place.
