Nope, ffg doesnt hate us.

It's hard tin against two vsds and three GSDs...which is what I fly at 400. Flew against a fairly experience guy with a good fighter screen...simply flew through the fighters and blew up the capital ships.

Doesn't sound that experienced if he let you do that. Sounds like his placement was off

Nothing to do with his placement. With five ships I can pretty much cover the whole board, it doesn't matter were you place your ships.

Seeing as I know the guy ( who has been playing war games for 15 years) and you don't, and I know you have some issues with your social skills, I'll ignore the condescending tone. But I will tell you that based on your batreps, and what you have posted of your strategy, I'm perfectly confident I could table you, in this wave, and if you're flying Rebs, in five turns flat.

No next wave is a totally different kettle of fish, and I do believe the moon cal ships are going to make a huge difference in the way the game plays, so after that hits, yeah, not confident of anything....lol.

And saying you could table someone based on their forum posts doesn't sound condescending at all :P This is the first time I've actually seen some un-ironic Armada trash-talk. Its as uncool as I imagined.

If you're going to say someone else is condescending and lacks social skills, you may want to reevaluate your own post as well.

No need to reevaluate my post. Lyraeus and I have somewhat of a history, and I posted as I did with full intent and knowing he will understand my meaning.

As far as being condescending, no I'm not. I consider Lyraeus to have quite a degree of skill, as obvious from his strategy and bat rep postings. However, I also know my own history, and after a fairly critical review on my own of what I can see of his style, I stand by my assessment. This is not meant to be condescending; I simply don't believe in false modesty. I also believe in saying the truth exactly as I see it, with no sugar coating (which perhaps comes from being married to a German woman.)

Now we're he to beat me, I would honestly be pleased. I love a challenge. I've never ever minded losing a game of anything, as long as I had fun. But I'm not going to sit here and be all humble. Not my style. I'm rightfully proud of my skill and see no reason to downplay it.

With all that said, I'm looking with some trepidation to the Sullust final round....it's gonna be a deucy.

And also the above poss only refer to Lyraeus....lol. He has a habit of trying to downplay my skill by always saying my opponents are lacking, so yes, there was plenty of irony on that post...which was only meant to be understood by the recipient.

No, I down play the skill of those you face. I have no doubt they are great players but they are not playing you at your game. Thus why you have oh so many "flawless" victory wins.

If their skills matched yours you would not have 10-0 wins. I play strong players here in Portland and I get constant 5-5 matches. They are fun and interesting. We shall see how my prep for sullust will turn out. Maybe playing 1 list will help me out in becoming a better player.

As for tabling me in 5 turns. It is an interesting hypothesis, could happen but so many variables to consider. . . Will it happen. . . hmmmmm 25% likelihood. One day at Worlds or Nationals we can test this theory.

Yeah guys, let's all post very specific messages only one guy is supposed to understand on the public forums!

I won't argue your math my friend, as indeed there are a ton of variables involved. I would certainly love to put it to the test! We shall see, I may yet be able to somehow escape real life one day and go to Worlds or at least swing by Portland!

The local scene is currently undergoing a growth phase with a League going on. I look forward to the results.

Better tone it down then. Beating everyone by high margins makes people not want to play as often. I have pushed someone away by tabling them. It was a sad experience that I was the cause of such an action.

Oh I'm purposefully NOT playing in the league, for those reasons. I only play all out when I'm at a tourney or testing a tourney list. I do play the guys in the league on the side, at which point I use whatever crazy list comes to mind and efficiency be damned, hehe.

That is how I normally play anyways. Always testing out ideas. If I play a list twice it is an interesting occasion

It seems odd- if FFG are trying to encourage us to use squadrons and move away from ship only builds, to then provide a ship that actually encourages you to buy less squadrons, since the Raider engages squadrons.

The design and development for this ship, and all of Wave 2, was propably completely many months ago, long before we and FFG realized squadrons were struggling. I'm still hoping there are some killer squadron upgrade cards in Wave1 to g with the Scum & Villany squarons we know will be solid. I'd like to see some game-changing upgrade cards such as a commander that boosts all squadrons, long rang squadron activation, something that can let squadrons and move and fire in the squadron phase. Please!!

Strongly disagree squadrons are struggling

I've been playing at 400 since the beginning, and still say fighters are sub optimal. Really hoping for wave two to hopefully fix some of that.

really? When I do fighters at 400 they wreak face lol

Yup this has been my experience as well

Out of curiosity, how did you get them to work?

Rebels can now field 3 tough, shooty AFs AND still have enough points for a large cloud of fighter-bombers. Or a variant thereof.

I'm struggling vs. that one. Plus it's fun to play.
