Raider looks freaking sweet. I hope the shrimp frigate is seriously awesome.
Nope, ffg doesnt hate us.
People are not considering that Ozzel is 20 points, Ordinance Experts is 4, Screed is 26. This means if you get 2 Ordinance Experts, that is 8 points spent so 28, a third and it is 32. Might as well of gotten screed
also
Ozzel seems very good.
My thoughts exactly. Ordinance experts might make Screed unnecessary.Thank god Imperials got an even cheaper ship to carry ACM to Screed with.
Ozzel might replace Screed.
Screed+ion cannon batteries
Screed+overload pulse
There are still awesome screed combos
Ozzel costs more in the end but the utility of changing speed by 2 is HUGE. ABSOLUTELY HUGE.
Unless your strategy will make good use of Ozzel's ability, in which case you can't say "Might as well of gotten Screed" as you will be loosing Ozzel-power that way.
I'm now dreaming of a Glad tooling around at speed one just behind the gun line of an Imp fleet before roaring forward using a nav token to accelerate to 3 and engine techs for the extra speed one maneuver before unleashing demolisher furry with an ordinance expert ACM combo while a pair of ISD's accelerate from one to three catching rebels unaware.
This ship seems to make both Imperial and Rebel players less inclined to take any fighters in their lists, doesn't it?
Yeah but Screed doesn't change your speed by an extra 1!
The dark side is tempting me, tempting me...........
Seriously, the MC30 needs to be absolutely stellar.

Even Ordinance Experts don't garentee you a crit.

This doesn't make the one raider title count as a option to receive damage to trigger this effect, right?
Sure. You can go from speed 1 to 4 in a turn and reverse but then you will outpace your other ships. While nice and versatile, I am not sure if it replaces the guaranteed ACMs.Yeah but Screed doesn't change your speed by an extra 1!

Actually with a Glad I side, mathematically at least it does.
But your opponent will find it very hard to predict your movement, one of the keys to game.
The catch is this thing is going to melt if a large ship so much as glances sidelong at it. Think of how often you've watched CR90s explode? Now these guys don't have Mothma or redirects. Just one brace, but no Electronic Countermeasures.
6 damage with a single accuracy result and Kaboom!
That is one sexy ship.

Hence why I'm more excited about all the Galdiator buffs ![]()
With a brace, and no redirect, they will be spending engineering commands to move shields around, while cr90's usually try to recover them. I think that makes the raider more durable. Especially that one guy that counts attacks from ships as obscured.
"gotta go fast!" *sanic*
That admiral helps against tractor beams, if multiple ships tractor you down to 1, you can escape their trap!
*sanic intensifies*
So even with Instigator, this thing only has a zone of influence of dist 1. But with ozzell and its low speed manoeuvrability, you should be able to drive it straight into the enemy bomber ball.
On the other hand, I think of my mates 6x Y wings, and ask the question- whats going to stop them just killing it?
So hang on. This thing can engage enemy squadrons. Engaged squadrons can't attack capital ships. So this thing just become literally immune to fighters?
Looking even closer at points costs, I'm not sure that this ship is worth it compared to fighters if you just take it for anti-fighter duties.
Rad-1 plus title, quad lasers and ordnance experts is 57 points. Vader, Fel and an advanced are only 51 points. I'd argue that the fighters are better at killing other fighters, more survivable and almost as good at anti-ship fire.

Oooh - crap, is that correct?

no, if engaged "it must attack an engaged enemy squadron if possible rather than an enemy ship" (rules ref page 6)
Attacking imaginary squadrons would not count as "possible".
"When a squadron attacks, it must attack an engaged
squadron if possible rather than an enemy ship."
So the engaged squadrons can attack the raider, so long as their are no other enemy squadrons engaging them.
Nope, a squadron that is engaged can only attack (squadrons) it is engaged with. So i would imagine that if it engages the squadrons, they could attack the Raider, even if other squadrons are around.
So in other words my guess is it would work the other way.
Edit: beaten and so, so wrong.
Edited by BiggsIRLThe raider looks like a lot of fun, and can hit hard with ACMs and Screed in command (or Vader for a reroll on all dice). However, this ship is a complete glass cannon. Need to keep it supported, and use it to buff your fleet.
I am thinking:
ISD-II, Gunnery Teams, Vader, ECM
Raider-I, Overload Pulse
Gladiator-I, Demolisher, ACM
Victory-I, ACM
3 x TIE fighter
Overload pulse with the Raider, and watch ships melt under the torrent of fire from the ISD with Vader's reroll! Can't wait!
If you have not placed Quad turrets on your Warlord's with H9's, then SHAME!
SHAME!

Also, please tell me that I wasn't the first person to think about this.... I don't even own imperial stuff...
Ooooooooo. The Imperial in me likes.

Or worse since it counts as engaged with two squadrons, you can deal damage to those "ghost" squadrons.
