I have never heard the decimator referred to as a pancake. No I take that back, I heard it once on a battlerep that the announcer got just about everything wrong in. YTs are pancakes, deci has never fallen in a similar grouping outside of being called a "PWT".
AmPm, what was your 3 T70 list? I ran Poe with PTL, BB8, Proton Torps, and Weapons Guidance. I also had two Red Vets, one with the Stressbot and Wired. The other with Weapon Guidance and Wired. I took second, I like the aggressive play of the new xwings.
How did you run them?

it's not
Cherineau is le crepe
Hard to say what my area's real meta is. Most of the top players have semi-secret tourney lists that only come out in private so the day to day game play is all over the place.

I am highly amused by this.
If you consider that there are always outliers in this game due to personal preference (even up to worlds), then removing the unusual ones actually gives exactly the META in my area among the win-win tournament players. Its kind of gross to be honest. Its literally as you see written on the forums sometimes.

It's mostly YTs but yeesh you guys get really hung up on terms.
Maybe we should call the decimator French Toast ![]()
My local meta favors diversity and personal preferences mixed with net-listers and rookies. It's fun most of the time.
I actually want most of the terminology outside of abbreviations dead, tbh. It tends to confuse the issue for the newbies and cause conversations like this to exist.

I've seen
Poe, Wedge, Rookie and then a Poe, Wedge, Garven
that's 4 vanilla X-wings
(with agreed upon proxied Integrated mechs because I'm not a ****)
behold!

it's like seeing a real live, walking mammoth! (and then stuffing its face full of cluster missiles)

I've been running Poe + 1-2pt EPT (mostly VI just to snag them arc dodgers), R5-P9, Autothruster; 2x Red Squadron with Pred and Autothruster. I've been thinking of swapping VI for Draw Their Fire though.
Mainly, try and come in from an angle that allows me to pass through the enemy formation and scoot back out using 3 banks or 4 straights + boost. Focus fire on something during a pass, kill it, rinse and repeat. The Reds tend to take the brunt of enemy fire because Poe is just a pain in the ass to kill (hence my thoughts on DTF). Stay fast, don't get into a drawn out dogfight, make long slashing attacks.
I have a tournament tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes in that environment. Think I may take DTF instead of VI or LW on Poe to try and extend the life of my Reds (they do so much damage).
We're all over the place here. I'm beginning to recover from a TIE Advanced obsession, but the most consistent thing is the one guy that will usually play whatever the internet just said was weak. He has some kind of vendetta against the idea of mathwing and appears to believe that by winning with underpowered ships he proves it wrong. I've tried pointing out that this isn't really how mathwing or games with dice work but he has yet to care.
There's no TLT plague, nor did we ever have a point fortress or Fat Han problem. The closest we got was when I built my own take on brobots and enjoyed it enough to use a few times.
