Vader Force Choke - Is it an attack?

By cuberner, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

Vader is, well, Vader, so of course his advantages are being scrutinized. Question, does Force Choke count as an attack? Or can Vader attack and use Force Choke as his two actions?

It only does damage. It isn't an attack. You can use your other action to attack.

The Rules Reference Guide (page 6) specifically mentions Vader's Force Choke is not an attack.

• An ability that does not involve an attack but causes a figure

to suffer damage (such as Darth Vader’s “Force Choke”) is not

considered to be an attack.

What they said. The same thing applies for Chewbacca's Slam ability.

Yup. One of my favorite things to do with Chewbacca is bait people into melee attacking me or using something like fleet footed to close, slam someone, and then blast them.

Cool, thanks. Man, I need to study more. Seems like every question I have is somewhere in the rule books. Eventually we will have it mastered!
