I've been running dual TLT Y-wings in most of my lists lately and I'm loving them so far but I'd like to ask you guys your opinion on which is an over all better Y-wing setup. For 26 pts would you rather fly a Gray Sqd Pilot + TLT or a Gold Sqd Pilot + TLT + Seismics?

Both have their pro's and cons; Grays shoots over Golds and Obsidians and is a mild counter to Predator, whereas the Gold has a bomb surprise for anyone trying to sneak up close from behind.

Considering your TLTs already cover your six, I'd go for Grays instead of bombs. Bombs make a lot of sense on BTL-A4 Y-wings, but if you're using the turret, I'd go for the slight PS boost.

Thx. I agree with you about PS advantage but there were also a few instances where those bombs were useful against arc dodgers like Soontir sneaking up behind to get range 1 shots. Actually to put things in a bit more context I'm also running VI Ten + Mangler for anti-soontir duty so maybe Grays might be a slightly better use of those 26 pts.

Ah, that makes sense. In that case, I guess it depends on what you see more: Soontir or Predator. Or if you're seeing both, which is getting the majority of damage through to you? My gut feeling is that with a single agility, I'd rather not let an opponent reroll that second attack die.

One way to take care of Soontir is to space your Ys so they keep guns on Soontir no matter which one he goes for. I mean, if he goes for range 1 of a Y-wing, the other will be at range 2 of him.

See my edited post above. I may consider switching to Grays; just have to be vigilant on how I space them out and make sure Ten is always in a position to threaten any flankers like Soontir.
