Las Vegas Open 2016

By Battle Wizard, in X-Wing Organized Play

For anyone in the Southwest part of the US (or elsewhere, we have a big airport after all), there is an annual event hosted by Frontline Gaming called Las Vegas Open held here in Las Vegas, NV. It started as a primarily 40k event but is growing and expanding. In February of 2016, we (the Little Shop of Magic, where I work) are going to be helping to expand LVO into X-Wing and Netrunner by running tournaments for both games.

The X-Wing tournament will start on Friday, skip Saturday, and finish on Sunday. It's a little weird, but they need the room Saturday for 40k and Warmachine/Hordes (since both events are promising to be larger than anticipated). They had well over 1,000 attendees in 2015, so we're hoping we can get a good turnout for the X-Wing and Netrunner tournaments and maybe get better time slots next year, or maybe even an Armada tournament.

Check out the Frontline Gaming website to register. We still have a few months to go, so no real hurry (though Bally's Hotel/Casino has already sold out of the specially priced rooms for the weekend I think).
