This is the first I've heard of that; has anyone else encountered different bases/pegs in the TFA Core?

Well, the single one I have has no air bubbles in the pegs, and the underside of the base has slightly different molding inside. But the size and shapes are exactly the same. If you notice in the pics, there are no air bubbles in the pegs.

Am I the only one that thinks the purple ones are the best (at least in tandom with the tie/fo black and white).

Don't you have like a billion extra pegs, though? I know I've seen other people complain about not being able to buy pegs, but I've never understood why. I have tons of extras sitting in a bag somewhere because *every* ship comes with two of them. Unless I want to run *every* ship I own all at 2 pegs high all at the same time, I will always have extras.

Yeah, my ships all live on their pegs. The only spare base/peg I have is from one time I bought an E Wing for the cards and tossed the model.

I'm oddly very excited about this. I've never wanted colored bases, but it looks too cool. I think I'll pick up one orange and one green. Or maybe just 2 orange. I can't get enough orange. I wear it almost every day. Shirts, ties, laptop bag, backpack ... Yep, now I need orange bases.

I wonder how much they'll cost.

I think i'll pass on these, they'd make the gaming table and stuff look garish and cartoony. Unless I was playing epic i'd stick with clear or black ones. I usually play games with 1-5 ships per team so i'm not too worried about getting confused about which ship belongs where.

It's a nice idea, but I think the strong colors distract from the ship too much. Maybe if the colors were less saturated...

There are only two sizes of bases, and both are shown in the article. The only thing for epic that you won't be able to customize is the peg.

Very cool. I can see buying a few of these to organize squadrons for larger games. Now I can really have a red/gold/whatever squadron.

Finally, after seeing so many posts about people calling FFG and asking to buy bases, FFG gives us not only clear bases, but colored bases too! So quick question ... which colors will be the favorite?

They look hideous, seriously. My view is that bases should be as invisible as possible, clear plastic or mat black. I want to see cool space ships not a rainbow parade of hideous colours.

There ya go, that's my whole deal - they're recessed instead of having extended guides, so that's gotta interfere with template function, right?

Yeah you put the templates in the slots. It works better than the FFG deal... for me.

Now that I see the Attack Wing versions of the template slots, I like them a _lot_ more. I wish FFG had done it that way from the beginning.

Frustratingly, the official bases have the nubs, and those nubs do count for purposes of bumping. Because that's the case, I totally understand why yours wouldn't be tourney legal.

Since neither of us cares about Tournaments... I may be getting some of the STAW versions.

No huge ship base packs it would seem though.

Would you do me a favor, then, and do a scratch build of the Torrent and Nebulon B? I'd like them to announce both of those a month after you finish.

In our group we each took different colors and painted our bases accordingly, I have orange on everything and for all ships in my list.. large and small bases. this is a nice addition, and I'll get a couple packs, and hopefully they do large bases as well, but in the mean time I have all the colored bases I need or want. so these are gravy later on.

we did colors so we wouldn't mix our ships up, and yes it's easy to do them.. and was a natural process I think. Glad to see these out, but wish they had done it 2 years ago lol
