Quick Hound's Tooth Report

I tried the Hound's Tooth with Moralo out for the first time last night. Faced an elite Tie list (Phantom, Advanced, and Interceptor).

My list:

Moralo was a beast with tactician and his 180 arc. I even forgot that with Gunner he can double stress a single ship!

The win for me was fairly straightforward as frankly my opponent's list wasn't great. The real MVP for me was Dace. He managed to finish off the phantom and interceptor with his ability to auto-damage an ionized ship. The phantom was a thing of beauty as Dace was down to 1 hull and at PS9 went first, finishing the phantom before getting downed by the advanced.

Kaa'to shadowed Dace as bodyguard for much of the game, siphoning focus tokens as needed. I misplayed him a bit as I didn't realize bodyguard was limited to range 1 until after my first move. There is likely a better EPT for Kaa'to in this list but the Focus synergy was too good to pass up.

This was the first time I'd run the Tooth. The 180 arc with Moralo firing his ion cannon was devastating (Mangler is likely a better choice but Dace's ability can be used up to range 3 so that was goodness in this game - aced the interceptor).

Of course, Moralo kept running into asteroids (I'm not used to flying large)! He needs to work on his piloting skills.

Overall this was a fun list to run. Being able to ionize and stress ships somewhat readily is a potent combination. Had I realized that Gunner/Tactician let me Stress two ships in one turn I may have played that slightly different (or not - 2 stress tokens on one ship is pretty nasty).

Certainly any C&C is welcome around how to better maximize ion out in this list.

Kaa'to + Bodyguard is great. Inertial Dampeners seem useful on Hound's Tooth too because it's White so you can do it straight after a Red 0. Costs 2 stress but worth it. This keeps your ship still for 2 turns. Could be good for burning down Ionised ships.

Only other suggestion I would have is replace Kaa'to with an Ion Cannon Turret toting Y-Wing.
