Basically I would buy the core set for £25 and get 3 ships and a bunch of upgrade cards to do with as I please and you get the stuff you want.

I'm in the UK but maybe someone in the US could translate the amounts?

The point here is do you now still think it's a rip off to buy the core set, or would you be happy to let me get all that stuff for £15?

If you think £10 is too much, how much do you think FFG would sell the deck for if they did it separately? Don't you think they would probably include the new rules and stuff too and try for a bit more profit?

Just to be clear here I'm not doing this, It's genuinely hypothetical so please don't PM me about it.

The point is that if I did do this I'd be getting 3 ships for £5 each that I could re-sell and make a bunch of dosh out of people that seem to be complaining that FFG are handing them a money making opportunity.

I'll tell you a little story about wave 7.

I bought a Punisher and a K-wing for £13 each (£26 total) and then I sold 2x Extra munitions 2x TLT, cluster mines, conner net on e-bay and made £30.

I still have the ships and I sued that £30 to buy another K-wing and Punisher that cost £12 from chaos cards.

If we're counting the ships as $15 each (really, should probably be less since you don't get a full expansions worth of upgrades, so maybe $12 or $10?) then you'd end up at -$5. That's not okay.

The new core is definitely worth it and I think if people were given the option to buy the deck separately while the new core is also available, most would buy the new core.
