HALLELUJAHHHHH

By Blail Blerg, in X-Wing

let's let the meta reshape itself rather than letting loose some premature hallelujahs, eh gents? :P

it's a good change and way ******* overdue but it doesn't mean we'll get a varied meta overnight

Even as you were saying it it was too late. It's already changed and it pretty much was overnight.

Blail you've had many good posts but this one may be my favorite so far.

too late != way overdue

it'll still have an impact, but this **** should've hit with Wave 5 <_<

That and or/engine nerf. Boost off the farther side for turn boosts and with the short width side of the 1 straight for straight boosts. Like BR.

Who loved them some tasty Whisper Chiraneau meta. Or Soontir Chiraneau meta for TWO WAVES. Wait. 3? We are wave 7 right now eh? Let's see if they continue.

I would hate for large base boost to be nerfed. Agressors and Lambdas would both suffer badly and underservedly. Of course it is frustrating and borderline broken on PWTs, but that is why I use stress mechanics.

I hear you.

At the same time, try it. Look at it. You'll notice its still VERY significant. Try it. Go.

As for Lambda's, I've had a very successful time playing without it for more than a year. Just a few days ago, I chased a falcon around the board through asteroid rocks with my lambda. Yes. a Lambda. It dealt over half of the damage to Han by itself. Never landed on a rock.

Boost is a lie. You don't need it.

(Also, Palpatine can get you to move through rocks in non combat turns, just palpatine the rock dice away)

But I still love Buzzsaw and Advanced Sensors shuttles! I probably will never - okay thats too bold to say - not own Palpatine for a long time, so Palpmobiles don't concern me much. The Doomshuttle of course won't go away, but sometimes I want more from my Hippo.

You don't need the boost, but it is just so much fun! (even balanced for arced ships)

If you love shuttles, get Palpatine. Print out a proxy at least. He breathes new life into SOOO many old imp builds and into the shuttle itself. Versatility, power, must-kill-ness, yet at the same time, the least concerning piece on the board. Its like being smashed over the head repeatedly with a pawn.

Also, your training with shuttle flying will serve you well, it will. yes yes.

I think it's great that MoV on big ships will now be on par with small ships. Being right on the edge of making the cut with a small ship list was painful, almost always being pushed out of the cut by large ship lists with better MoV.

I'm also averagely okay with big ships being able to lose games where they are at half points or less. It is great for those cases where a 1 HP Fat Turret beats 2 B Wings in points when time is called. It is sad for situations where a 5 HP 40 pt Firespray loses to a 1 HP B Wing.

I also think situations like 6 HP Fat Han losing in pts to 2 averagely life B Wings is sad. Han had a great shot at winning that match with Turret and arc dodging, but time and points makes him lose. I sort of wish the rule was 1/4 hp gives half points, or even BELOW half HP, the half being rounded down.

But I digress, the change overall is an improvement!!

I do think having to manage more ships and dials, more lower PS is a considerable factor in this whole thing.

I was guessing itd be half hull not total hull + shields, but I am OKAY with this change. =)
