Also, don't count on this killing two ship lists. Yes, they fortress less points now but that won't change the fact that they're very strong lists in their own right.

I think there's going to be plenty of debate about that until FFG clarifies it. As I mentioned elsewhere, that is the ONLY place how to calculate squad points is mentioned, so it might have made sense (at least initially) to put it there.

But all the repair stuff is Rebel exclusive.

So what you're saying is, you no longer have to go whole-hog into an Alpha-Strike list to get a points advantage; you can winnow them to 1/2 health, and use the remaining points of your fleet to counter-build other things?

If I'm flying Raider, the only thing making me even think twice on this is the critical lack of crew slots.
I'm wondering if this means we could possibly see high cost small base ships like a fully loaded Phantom staying cloaked and hoarding a large pile of points.
Honestly. Most of us can keep a 4 or 5 ship list of small ships alive for partial life up to 75 minutes also. Its just ogod over all. I've had a definite few games go to 75 minutes.

fat PWT de-jour can no longer run around like a prick and force you into horrible engagements at half health or lower

It is at the end of a round that goes to time. Shield recovery only accounts at the end and if you are damaged most recovery only adds 1 hit point so unless it was on the edge not much. The ship doesn't give points immediately after they reach half hit points. So at the end of the round then whatever hit points are left to include recently recovered shields are counted and if it is half or less then 1/2 points are added.
It basically makes large ships have a harder time winning the swiss rounds.
