Massing build: do I over value intel officers?

By SaOsiris, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

My no-squad build is 2 glad 1s with Intel officers, acm, and engine techs. Officer down the brace, and acm down the redirect zones. With a xi7 and dominator vic 2, screed of course. Accuracy the brace and ignore the redirects.

Maybe I put too much emphasis on stopping defense tokens, but I feel that getting a brace and redirect off every round is too strong. Would my points be better elsewhere?

Also, I try not to sink too many points into the vic, but I want it's shots to hurt if it gets them off.

I actually think Intel Officer is a very important Imperial fleet component. My AF2s never leave port without Electronic Countermeasures to ensure I can get a Brace Token in but Intel Officer would still make me discard it. Which is a massive loss to defense if Glads are throwin out handfuls of Black Dice at me.

I find intel officers would work better in pairs, actually. I find myself wishing I had another whenever the ship I'm picking on with it just decides to disengage, and replace itself with another. Having a second one to pick at the "backup" ship at range to weaken it or make it lose tokens would be handy. I just am not sure if I want to lose Wulff on my demolisher to replace him with an intel.
