but you are correct in that SLAM isn't gimped. Losing that little gimmick doesn't make the action any less effective since, after all, the real meat of it is in IA shenanigans and A-SLAM conner nets

Page 2 simply repeats the rules from the reference card. The clarifications are found later, where they say what fickle and acegard indicate: SLAM doesn't reveal a dial and therefore doesn't trigger things that happen when you reveal your dial.

I was briefly excited by the idea that it could SLAM execute double green maneuvers to clear two stress in a round, as "check for stress" has been added into the "Execute a maneuver" step.

Then I found the functional flaw in that idea.

Plus the K-wing can take Bombardier. Only the Firespray and Decimator share that, and they're not exactly agile bombers.

Uh, you can use them as Action: type bombers (prox, conner) w/ Advanced Slam, since you can drop bombs that way.
