Imperial Patrol Transport

By Inquisitor Tremayne, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

I came up with stats for this for an upcoming game, thought I would share. Any critiques?

Armor, HT, and ST feels high, especially if it's supposed to be an airspeeder. 1, 6, 6 is probably better numbers.

Likewise the weapons loadout is high for a speeder, with light blaster cannons/autoblasters making a more reasonable option. I don't see any missile points on the art, but a full sized Conc launcher also seems nasty. I'd probably look at either the unguided mini rockets from DC, or just use teh personal scale missile tube missile stats if I wanted to add missile to such a craft.

Of course that's for airspeeder use. If the planned encounter called for a few of these to take on a light freighter you're probably in a pretty good ballpark.

It has missiles in Rebels, based it on the load-out from the Wookieepedia page. 4 missiles took out a massive comm tower in the Call to Action episode, so could be a missile tube, maybe. Also, not entirely sure it is just an airspeeder, as it is based on the LAAT that has been seen in low orbit. Although, I am thinking I might go 2, 12, 10 on the stats...

Forgot about the missiles in Call to Action.

Airspeeders can get to low orbit though, rulebook even says so.

People do think very highly of LAATs. I saw stats someone cooked up somewhere that made LAATs so awesome there was no reason to fly anything else ever again.

The crew don't really need Astrogation, do they?

Is that two sets of launchers with Linked 1 or just one "twin" launcher with Linked 1? Similar question on the laser cannons.

Encumbrance seems very low for something that can carry 12 passengers.

The crew skills are just left over from my standard stat block.

Do they need to be "Twin"? The TIE guns are not twin yet are Linked.

I was thinking "fully loaded" what would be the additional Encumbrance? And looking at the vehicle it doesn't appear to have much room for anything else fully loaded.

When I was brainstorming I was thinking 1 light laser cannon, but after re-watching that Episode and looking over the load-out I guess I should be true to the source.

Lowered the stats to 2, 10, 8. Supposed to be a lighter version of a LAAT. I'm guessing still more durable than your average airspeeder though.

Appears the Empire is using it as a planetary policing vehicle, so makes sense it is heavily armed and armored given the Empire's MO.
