35pt fun list help requested

By Angerland, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hello Wing Commanders!

Local group is planning a 35pt small base only event. I was hoping to put this here and let the collective brainstorm some lists. I know of one list posted already with two scum Z's. Have fun!

I'm sure it's probably an obvious one, but Soontir (27) + Royal Guard (0) + PTL (3) + Stealth device (3) + AT (2) = 35.

If you're looking for a single ship build it's one of the better options.

“Howlrunner” (23)
TIE Fighter (18), Swarm Tactics (2), Stealth Device (3)

Academy Pilot (12)

Vader

Lone Wolf

Adv Homing

Title
ATC

35

Yes Soontir will always come up and rightly so.

Thanks for posting! I've worked up one but need to finish it:

Black Sun Ace - predator, glitterstim, and... not sure on the mod yet. I know folks love EU but I wonder about Shield upgrade or Stealth device instead.

Thoughts?

My local group Furballs at 35 points. I got you, fam.

The previously mentioned Bloody Baron (Fel + PTL + Autothrusters + Stealth)

Etahn Abaht + R5-P9

Buzzsaw Phantom + Stygium (Sigma + FCS + Gunner + Stygium)

Wedge Antilles + Expert Handling + R2-D2

Guri + Autothrusters + Predator

Palob Godalhi + Blaster Turret + Moldy Crow + Expert Handling + Recon Specialist + Hull Upgrade

Darth Vader + Lone Wolf + Stealth Device + TIE x/1 + Advanced Targeting Computer

Shall I keep going?

Horton Salm + R2-D6 + Veteran Instincts + Extra Munitions + Proton Torpedoes + Autoblaster Turret

Poe + Lone Wolf and Autothrusters seems pretty good...

Also could do:
Tycho: EI, AWTP, Refit, DD, PTL

Jake: AT, AWTP, PRocket, PTL, VI

Although with his Procket Jake would have a massive target on the back of his head

you can alleviate it slightly by relieving the stress of being at range 1 with the help of Adv homing Missile, He'll still be a HUGE target, but with the safety net of range 2

How about an Onyx Squadron (Tie Defender) with Ion Cannon. That comes to 35 points. The strategy is pretty simple, ion your opponent, k-turn behind them, and kill them.

Btw, love the Vader and Guri in this list!

Are there any specific species of ship you'd particularly like to fly, and is this a Furball or simply a 1v1 scenario?

Are multi-ship lists legal?

35? No!!! Its one point short to 3 Academy pilots. So, I'm thinking:

Soontir Fel

Daredevil

Royal Guard TIE

Stealth Device

Autothrusters

You will only be facing one or two ships, and this is the ultimate in arc-dodging (in my humble opinion)

1.) Point total should be raised to like, 40. Or 39 if you don't want to have to deal with a Patrol Leader Deci. This opens up 3x TIE Fighter, an Aggressor with an upgrade or two, named Defenders with upgrades, double Green Squadron A-Wing, etc.

2.) Just ban Soontir so that you can have variety at this event.

He specified no biggies, for one, so really you're missing out on just... absurdly large builds for small-ships. Defenders and Phantoms and whatnot.

2.) Just ban Soontir so that you can have variety at this event.

Or get creative and figure out how to beat him with just 35 points, knowing that a Soontir Counter-build will do insanely well.

Expanding on this:

What are Soontir Fel's weaknesses?

He is constantly stressed in the planning phase.

His dial is limited to his Greens, to mitigate the above.

He has very low health behind that insane mitigation.

He is incredibly reliant on actions to survive.

How do we push back?

Adding additional stress means that he loses his actions for multiple rounds.

He is more easily blocked and mined, due to having the dial limitiations

Non-Combat damage is super effective.

That leaves us with

Flechette + Failsafe

Flechette Torpedoes don't care if they hit their target, so long as they're fired. Failsafe will kick in due to Fel's natural mitigation, so you'll be able to fire these at least every other round.

Rebel Captive

Fel must attack you to win. Doing so will stress him out, leading him to abandon Push the Limit as a stressor, and therefore losing one of his 3 actions per round. Sadly, the stress and focus are dealt upon the declaration of the attack, rather than its resolution, so he can still use his focus against you.

Conner's Nets, Cluster Mines, or Proximity Mines

Fel has very few HP, and a large percentage of maneuvers that run through the same space before him. Any of these three mines in his path will give him a very bad day, and are the only way to kill him that leave the Stealth Device intact.

Y wing TLT works too

Drea Renthal (22) + ICT (5) + R4-B11 (3) + Shield Upgrade (4) = 34 points.

Step 1: Target lock opponent

Step 2: Abuse pilot skill and astromech to force through ion tokens

Step 3: Walk opponent off the board

Probably won't win but should be really fun to play.....Jek Porkins (26) + Push The Limit (3) + R5-D8 (3) + Hull Upgrade (3) = 35 points

Guri w/ Advanced Proton Torpedos is a evil 35 point ship for single ship lists.

Thanks for posting, folks. Yes multiple ship lists are ok to use. The 35pt limit was picked by the organizero for this event so nothing I can do to change it. I'm not sure if it's 1v1, last time 4 of us took to each mat in a corner and threw down battle royal style.

Maybe Kavil with a TLT, agromech, and predator?

All factions open, though I am a Scum player at heart.

For anti Soontir just take Ten Numb with mangler cannon it's 35pt :)

Backstabber + Twin Ion Engine Mk. II

Mauler Mithel + Twin Ion Engine Mk. II

Or drop the Mk. IIs for a 2 point elite talent.

This deadly duo always destroys twice their points total, and are my MVPs every game I use them.

Or go for a 33 point Bounty Hunter with Tactician. Or with the unreleased Agent Callus!

Or an 18 point Interceptor with Autothrusters and Nightbeast!

If you want to fly scum, go for a 12 point Z-95 and 23 points worth of Y-wing.

Or Guri with Push the Limit and Autothrusters.
