Engine Techs upgrade - exhaust card

By landorl68, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

I have a quick question. When you use the Engine Techs upgrade card, it says that you exhaust the card. Does that mean that it is gone, or just flipped like the defense tokens?

Also, can you use it on ships that already have a speed of 4? I think so, but wanted to make sure.

Exsaust means to turn the card sideways which signifies that it can no longer be used.

It is then unexsuated during the stautus phase for next turn

And since engine techs is a separate move, it can be used while going speed 4 (for a total of speed 5!!)

An "exhausted" card is used for the round - it gets "refreshed" during the Status Phase, along with any red defense tokens.

A "discarded" upgrade card is flipped face down and can't be used again for the rest of the game (e.g. Veteran Captain).

It's even faster than that...that last joint is pretty short, while the first one is longer. Makes GSD with techs faster than a corvette without

Huh? I'm pretty sure all joints have equal length...

Maybe they are. Could be I'm Confused. It's been known to happen.

Well, the distances and ranges on the ruler are differently sized. This could be what you're thinking of.

Movement wise, all the pieces are the same length, otherwise you'd have to assemble it in a very specific way.

Possibly - plus the last joint is very short, so it might have distorted my perception!

Yeah, but since there are no speed five ships, the final joint only needs to go as far as the actual "lock in nubs".

Anything past that would be superfluous since you can't go farther, and Engine Techs would be a totally separate movement at speed 1.
