Anyone notice that the Heirs of Blood opening story is an expanded retelling of the Crown of the Elder King Runebound expansion? Alric Farrow is even depicted as the Guardian of Tamalir and Merick Farrow as the Knave of Hate (check out the Runebound cards)!
Also the ensuing relationship between Alric, Merick, and Eliza is based off the small inserts included with their lieutenant miniatures from Descent: The Road to Legend. It seems to nicely establish the Crown of the Elder King as a prequel story.
Plus it even ties into the legend of the Lost King established by the Daqan faction in Rune Age. Several cool connections here!
