There are 2 dice colours missing from the rainbow

By EpicBubbleSA, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

So we have the shades

  • Black
  • White (Yeah you try changing the text colour to white)

The Primary Colours

  • Yellow
  • Blue
  • Red

And the secondary colours

  • Green

What we are missing (and those who suffer from OCD might agree with me is)

  • Purple
  • Orange

I have no clue what those dice would do but I want them >.<

Orange could be some kind of flame or explosion dice.

Purple could be a condition dice. Maybe a dot (damage over time) you give them a condition and each action they roll the dice. Maybe 2 blank sides 1 strain side 1 1 damage side and a 1 remove condition side. So you end up losing the negative condition by rolling it off.

The pedant in me is forced to point out that the rainbow does also include Violet .

Red

Orange

Yellow

Green

Blue

Indigo

Violet

So that's another dice you'd have to come up with an ability for...

Also: White

"Isaac Newton introduced indigo as one of the seven colors in his spectrum. In the mid-1660s."

Indigo is a fake color. :P

Just kidding.

If you needed an orange and purple attack die, orange could be a much more unreliable mix of red and yellow. Two sides with lots of damage, two sides with lots of surge, and two blanks. 3d, 2d, 3s, 2s, blank blank.

Purple could just have more consistent ranges on all sides. Instead of ranging from 2-5 it could just have four 3s and two 4s. Damage output similar to blue. Maybe one less surge.

No! No adding of dice or before you know it this game will turn into Killer Bunnies or something!

technically the true primary colours are Yellow, Cyan and Magenta

but who's counting?

and yes it would have been nice to see purple and orange dice instead of white and black

What about Grey and Brown ...

Roses are grey,
Violets are grey,

I am a Wrix,

And I am colorbind.

eh, I don't think any more dice are needed for this game.

Very funny that just today while in a traffic jam i thought about this... purple and orange dice are needed in this game. Theres no such thing as too many dice in a game.

More dice would allow for more variety in weapons and abilities. For example we know red is huge damage but nothing of anything else while blue is lots of range but very little damage. Purple could be a combination of both high range and high damage.

Orange could be another surge plenty dice, probably a mixture of the red and yellow dice so more damage and more surges.

Both seem powerful but could be balanced the figure needing to take damage in order to convert a red to purple or something like that.

:D

Theres no such thing as too many dice in a game.

That only applies to Shadowrun and Champions. Both games believe heavily in the Fistful of D6™ .

Ideas: Purple some thing between blue and green slightly more damage, slightly less range.

or: Purple healing die. 2 sides loose 1 damage; 2 sides loose 2 stress; 2 sides blank. (would be good on that 2-1B droid)

Orange harmful cndition die 2 sides 1 damage; 2 sides 1 damage, 1 stun, 1 side 1 damage, 1 bleed; 1 side 1 damage, 1 weaken (for mercs mainly)

Maybe?
