The Oncoming Storm IIC

By ColonelCommissar, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Captain Kozik breathes a sigh of relief on the bridge as his ship's maneuver thrusters suddenly re-light. The small thruster packs embedded along the hull strain to impede the progress of the onrushing cruiser as it streams into a rough orbit over the planet. The ship is certainly not secure, but at least now the crew's life expectancy can be measured in minutes, not seconds. However, as he looks he sees the Imperial warship now gliding in towards the Rendili Star, moving on an intercept trajectory.

"All crew to battle stations," he orders. "I want planes in the air now, then a spread of torpedoes to give them something to mull over on the approach."

Elsewhere, the second part of the group has reached the VIP lounge. The central holographic display shows in perfect detail the relative positions of the ship, the planet and the oncoming threat. All the passengers - save for Blaselock - are present: the band huddled nervously in one corner, while Lady Nash and Vibrek Noll study the hologram intently. They notice you as you enter, but before anyone can react the ship's hull shakes and you are thrown to the ground, the room's lights dimming and the hologram flickering out.

"What happened?" the bridge crew, strapped into their harnesses, rush to answer Kozik's question.

"One of their Dominator-class fighters hit the starboard hull after our bird splashed it. Damage minimal, though I've lost digital connection to the local defence guns. Switching to analog now."

You pick yourselves up off of the floor, but as you do you see Noll holding Lady Nash in front of him, a blaster aimed squarely at you.

"Nobody move. I'm getting off this ship, now."

Waiting for anyone in the upper group (Jeren, Rast, Marcelus) to respond.

"Mr. Noll," Jeren says, hands up in the air in as non-threatening a manner as possible, "I am sure we can talk about this. And I am equally certain we can work something out, yes?" He smiles just a little. "After all, we do not want you to hurt Lady Nash."

As the Jedi tries to calm the other man down or at the very least keep him from shooting anyone, he reaches into the Force in an attempt to remove the pistol from the hand holding it. And the Force, the Light Side, answers back quite clearly.

Noll scoffs. "Republic scum," he gives you what you assume is a malevolent glare, though the helmet hides it rather. On the other hand, it's very easy to register his surprise when the pistol flies out of his hand, dropping to the deck. Lady Nash slams up an elbow in his moment of confusion, hitting him almost unbelievably fast.

The face plate of Noll's helmet cracks, leaving a dramatic splinter right across it. He staggers back, clutching his head, and Nash darts free. He pulls the helmet loose, dropping it to the floor, and what you see is nothing like the personnel file suggested. This is not a middle-aged man, crippled by old injuries, but rather a Sith Pureblood, his nose broken, yes, but otherwise entirely uninjured. He glares at each of you in the room.

Waiting for whoever responds first.

"Stop this and allow yourself to be taken into custody. You will be treated fairly, I can promise you that," Jeren says in an even tone as he ignites his lightsaber, its blue light almost adding weight to his words. "You are outnumbered and outgunned and without your weapon. You must see the futility of trying something... foolish."

I am assuming someone has taken his pistol by now from where it landed on the floor.

"Something foolish like continuing to fight? You Jedi must know you are doomed. A storm is coming, the likes of which the Republic has never seen before, and when it breaks you will wish you had let yourselves burn with your petty ship. Now give me your Master, and I might allow my comrades to give you a painless death."

Waiting for any PC who wants to respond first out of the upper group.

"My... Master?" Although he does not falter, confusion is evident in Jeren's tone for a brief moment. "What are you talking about? There are no other Jedi here." He talks with certainty, though in his mind he adds, 'That I am aware of anyway.'

"Again I ask you to surrender. But if you do not, you will be subdued. There is no more time to waste on what appears to be pointless talk."

I know that it appears I am the only active player in the upper group, but what are the other two PCs doing? Because if the dude is not going to surrender we may as well take him prisoner.
