The Oncoming Storm IIC

By ColonelCommissar, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Teenine beeps in excitement, "Datapad = Jackpot! Think of all the goodies in that computer room!" He wobbles back and forth in excitement of the valuable intel they may be able to scrounge up.

Any other action? You could take a turn

I used my turn moving, correct? I don't see my name on the initiative list.

If not, my character keeps a look out, keeping his eyes on any possible avenues of attack.

And, if possible, can I get some healing? I'm in pretty bad shape.

By my reading, Rion is on the 1st floor and I am on the 2nd. I am three rounds from being able to help Rion unless he moves to Ash. Ashrym is headed that way though. Round 1) Ashrym will uses two maneuvers to get to the 1st floor, 1 to cross the 2nd and 1 to go down. Round 2) Maneuver to engage Rion and a maneuver to get a stimpack out. Round 3) Maneuver to use the stimpack.

If Rion comes up to 2nd floor this round and moves to engaged with Ashrym (2 maneuvers to do that, 1 to come up and 1 to move across it to engage with Ashrym I believe; I know he just followed Dag down to 1st floor at the end of last round, but there it is), then I could take out and use a stimpack next round when I get another turn.

Rion moved last turn (I wanted to shift things along). This is a whole new turn, with initiative posted above, and here again for convenience:

However, at this point the NPCs are not showing themselves so we'll skip the NPC slot. If you lot could take your rounds quickly we can move along all the faster.

Okay, I trade my action for a second maneuver and use both to move towards Ashrym, as he suggests. Hopefully, things will stay calm long enough for me to recover some wounds.

So that's:

NPC

PC - Marcelus

PC - Ash

PC - Rion

Rast followed his squadmates, taking time to retrieve his thrown daggers (one from the nearby dead trooper, and one from the wall behind him) before heading for the stairs.

Teenine, realizing that opening the door would be much easier with the datakey, wheels across the floor and hobbles his way back up the stairs to where Macelus was. Letting out a series of excited beeps and whistles, he requests that Agent Vaerson relay to him the data so they can raid the room.

Two maneuvers to move in place of an action.

Dag, seeing the others move, follows on behind, heading down another floor towards the locked door. "I reckon we just blast them. It's easier like that. Though if the Jedi wants to play nice, we could ask them to surrender first."

Alright, we're just waiting on Wulie to post his action. If this isn't done within 24 hours I'll autopilot him for expediency.

Vohr clutches his saber tighter, but otherwise keeps his eyes on the locked door.

Alright, new round of actions. Here are the locations:

Third Floor: None

Second Floor: Ash, Marcelus, Rast, Rion

First Floor: Dag, TeeNine, Vohr, locked door

Ground floor: Exit point

Correction to above locations (I believe): Rion moved from 1st to 2nd and then across 2nd to engage me in post #156. Unless, I completely misinterpreted it, in which case I will delete this post.

Seeing the battered Rion, Ashrym quickly retrieved a stimpack from his utility belt. "I got you covered," he tells Rion, before he injects the stimpack into his fellow soldier.

He smiles, but it can't be seen beneath his helmet, "That should do you good. Shall we re-group with the others?" He's looking around a bit nervously, just waiting for the Imperials to come back, possibly in greater numbers.

Maneuver: Retrieve a stimpack from his ulity belt.

Action (sub'd to a maneuver): Administer the stimpack to Rion. Rion recovers 7 wounds (first stimpack of the day, 5 +2 from Ash's talents).

"Thanks," Rion says gratefully. "Yes, we should get going--trouble is certainly coming."

I convert my action to a second maneuver and use both to return to the 1st floor with the others.

Rast followed Rion to join the others downstairs, keeping his bow drawn and ready for any sign of trouble.

Similar correction, Teenine moved to the same floor as Marcelus in the last round.

I'm terrible at map-keeping. Here are the locations:

Third Floor: None

Second Floor: Ash, Marcelus, TeeNine

First Floor: Dag, Rast, Rion, Vohr, locked door

Ground floor: Exit point

For the moment it might be best if I suspend rounds, since you all seem to be gathering around the door. If you want to take a moment to plan the way forward that seems reasonable, but tell me when you're ready to continue.

Ok, what should we do? I think it is probably best that Tee-Nine opens the door so the others can burst in. Should we ask for surrender first? --> maybe it works with enough successes or a triumph...

Edit: @ColonelCommissar: Is there a Com-Station next to the door to talk to the Imps? Or do we have to use the comlink of one of their fallen comrades to talk to them?

My vote is still for trickery--someone puts on an imperial uniform, tells them the Republic troopers got badly shot up and fled, and then mentions they stunned a straggler they captured for interrogation.

I am okay with a try at trickery. I am no good at deception, so it won't be me making the check. But what is the followthrough on trickery? Is it just to get the door open and then we jump all of them? If not, I am not sure how they are supposed to continue to trick their way through things to get the data and get back out without being found out. Based on what we've seen, there are maybe a little over a dozen Imperial soldiers/officers present, and they'd know everyone else at the site (especially who the officer or officers are). As soon as they see "our" Imperial, the trickery is over.

If it is just to get the door open, then we jump all of them as soon as it is open, then let's go for it. If they don't open the door, then T9 pops it open or we blow it open and then also proceed to jump then.

Well, we've already got the key for the door, so there's no need to blow it open.

The plan was rather to set a trap for the remaining Imps and to get them out of their hide-out, so that they can't set a trap for us when we open the door and try to storm the room.

I think, I'm more and more leaning towards the negotiation route. Would probably be more in-character for Marcelus, civiliced fair-play and all...

Asking them to surrender would probably be a coercion check (or charm or negotiation?). Marcelus has got 2 ranks in that, but on the other hand, he's got 2 ranks in deception as well, so he's probably the right man for both options.

Rast took a stimpack from his belt and approached Ashrym.

"Ash, would you mind...?" He asked the other soldier, holding up his stimpack.

Lots of intel could be gathered from having them give up. And if they hand over passcodes that would be easier than trying to slice in.

You have an access key, so slicing isn't necessary. Otherwise, do what you feel is best.

One more question: Is this a covert mission or can we approach the Imps as Republic troops? Could be important to know for negotiations whether we can show our true colours or not.
