The Oncoming Storm IIC

By ColonelCommissar, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

With no immediately visible targets, one floor between you and the room they retreated into and two floors between you and the exit, are you sure?

The exit is where we came in from the top of the building, correct?

Yes, but the roof is unsuitable for a ship to land on to pick you up. The front landing pad has that availability

Okay, then I hold position and wait for an opportunity to support someone who pursues the fleeing troopers. I can't fight and I can't sneak, so I'll help someone who can do something.

Marcelus relaxes and lowers his weapons.

"Excellent work, lads. These Imps simply can't stand the power of the Republic, can they? Ok, I think we should spread out a bit and secure any valuable data as long the Imps don't wipe it", he says, glancing questioning to his advisor Rast. "Could someone search the officer for any security codes or similar, please? And we should better get TeeNine to a network access to download every bit of data we can get." After a few seconds, he adds: "And it probably wouldn't be a bad idea if somebody watches this door."

Ashrym nods in solid agreement with Marcelus. "You said it," he adds, much less eloquently.

He moves quickly between the squad, trying to do a quick triage to determine who needs medical attention the most so he can work his way down. It sounds like the squad might be splitting up (or company could arrive) before he has time to patch everyone up with some basic medical care.

OOC: Not sure how many people I could attempt to provide the once per encounter medical care to before the team splits (or we get interrupted).

I watch the door.

Just FYI we're still under structured time:

So Ash can't take an action right now. Vohr can, and I believe he's watching the door which the Imps went through, but that's an incidental. Anyone else got an action?

Does the door have an interface Teenine can link up with? I'd be interested in altering the lock so that the troopers on the otherside can't open it again.

You'd have to get closer to inspect the door. Also, can I ask the OOC questions in the IC thread are coloured so as to provide some difference between them (unless you've gone mobile, in which case all is forgiven)

Teenine wheels over to the stairs and carefully wobbles down them, his treads unfortunately not built to quickly do such a thing, but he manages regardless. At the bottom he moves over across the floor, smoke from blaster bolts still hanging in the air, to the locked door in order to examine it more properly. Territorial control is absolutely necessary during a raid, and Teenine wants to insure the enemy doesn't get the jump on them once they've bolstered with reinforcements.

Two maneuvers instead of an action, to move between floors and then move closer to the door in question.

Just an update on locations as I understand them:

Third Floor: Dag, Ash, Rast

Second Floor: Marcelus, Rion

First Floor: TeeNine, Vohr, locked door

Ground floor: Exit point

But there are no visible enemies?

Not at this point, no

I continue to keep watch.

Dag gestures to Rion, indicating that he should follow on. The two move down the stairs towards the next floor: Dag to the second, Rion to the first.

Rion takes two strain. We're going back around to the next turn, so three PCs can act now. Sorry for not moving things along - I was waiting for people to act, but since the game had stalled I'm going to try and breathe some life into it

"Hmmph, when nobody else searches for information, I'll probably have to do it myself. It'll take ages to clean my armor!", muttering to himself, Marcelus moves towards the fallen Imperial officer and kneels down to search him.

One maneuver to move towards the officer. Is searching the officer for any information, data sticks, plans, maps, official papers or anything else an action or a maneuver? Probably an action. Perception? Infiltration? Or something else?

Maneuver to move, action to search. That would be an Average Perception check please!

Searching the officer's body: 3eA+2eD 2 successes, 2 advantage

Let's hope that I find something interesting.

Your search turns up some useful information: a datapad containing a personnel manifest and a building plan. These reveal that there are still three Heavy Troopers and a dozen communications techs unaccounted for, as well as that the locked room is the primary communications centre with the main computer bank in there. You also find a key to the door with overrides on anything a lower-ranked operative can impose. However, you can't find everything else - it seems the Imperials were localising data so that it couldn't get captured. It seems you'll have to go and get it.

Ashrym moved downwards as well, having spent the duration of that exchange up near the top, firing down and triaging a few injuries. He moves across the third floor and then down a level to the second floor, taking a position in the general vicinity of Marcelus while he finishes searching the imperial officer.

Maneuver: Move across a floor (across 3).

Action (downgraded to maneuver): Move down a floor (from 3rd to 2nd).

Edit: To fix my maneuvers and position based on ColonelCommisar's correction in post #148.

With a grin on his face, Marcelus rises up again, waving the key: "Look what I found! That should be helpful. Apparently there a still some troopers and several technicans in the building. According to this data pad, most of the Imps should be dead by now. Good work everyone! The locked door should lead to the communications centre. Hopefully we'll find some data there."

It takes one maneuver to move across a floor and one to move down the stairs, so Ash is on the 2nd floor.

Why did I take two strain?

Sorry, my mistake, little hazy on the two maneuvers = two strain or not rules. Ignore and continue
